My “Dogs in Action” concept in 14sec. (life, happiness, freedom, creativity….that I would like to be in common for all dogs in the world).
But, how it’s born?
This is and idea that I had preparing something really new and special for a lecture in Israel in 2018 and a professional friend (Alessandro Preti) helped me to make it real (it was a long and hard work)! 😃 This was possible only thanks to all the dogs and their owners that had fun with me in the past during a lot of shootings.
I wanted the essence of “dogs in action” photography and I wanted something totally new. Many people think about the right focus, techniques or extreme actions by dogs. This is not wrong but it’s not the meaning of the “dogs in action” photography by my side. In my honest opinion, the photography with dogs, especially in action, is something more than a classic photography to a person or to a landscape. With dogs, there is a close relationship we have during the shooting. It’s not like something we do hoping to don’t disturb the dog like in a discdog competition or like a person outside the scenes, but a small world to live with the dog in that moment instead. It’s like a parallel world (that I want to call “present” (different form the present we are used to live everyday) we enter during the shooting with the dog where the relationship rules over everything. If we are able to live that moment deeply, if we learn how to behave with the model learning from it, if we give up to put our photos as priority in the shooting, then we can achieve the best amazing result. I understand that it’s a very little lapse of time in action but this is like a magician and we can expand that small amount of time and live it totally! In this morphing I wanted the eyes of the dog as the center of the action all the surrounding changing. I think that the eyes of animals reflect the life, the real essence of the nature!
It’s the first time that someone try a morphing with dogs in action in this way in action (not putting the morphing as the main actor, but using the morphing to means a concept) and I’m sure since now, that many people will try to do it (you can try with dogs in studio, or with puppy that become ager, or whatever you want because there are so many option to use it). I hope this video will inspire them to think more and create something new in photography. I wish all of you that will read this post to live at least once in your life the real present with a dog in action because it’s something impossible to resist in the right way! ❤️🐾
All the photos used have been taken with a Nikon D5 and a Nikkor 300mm f/2,8.
Feel free to share this post to all the people everywhere and have always fun as priority living the shooting with dogs in action!!! 😄

Share on FacebookAs someone fortunate enough to have trained with Claudio and able to proudly call him a friend, I can honestly say he is one of the most remarkable dog photographers ever. (And I say this as a Specialist Pet Photographer myself). He is also a wonderful person too. His images are stunning, with detail and clarity that feels real enough to touch. This video only serves to prove even more so, how incredible his work is. Well done Claudio.
