My Dog & Me

I love photographing children! I love telling stories with my images. I become a child myself and get completely immersed in an imaginary world of dreams and fantasy that I remember living in as a child….when life was my playground and anything was possible. Remember those days? I think I’m still living in that world!

When I work with children, I always try to get a sense of their world. What are they interested in? What makes them laugh? What do they like to do for fun? For me, it’s all about creating an image that tells a story and capturing an emotion. For this project, the children were thrilled when they found out the story was going to be about them and their best friend! I truly enjoyed learning about why their dog is so special to them. There is nothing like the bond between children and their dog. In most cases, that relationship is unbreakable. I think these photos are a testament to the power of that love.

Maci is living her best life!! She lives with a wonderful family on a beautiful property with barn, pond, goats, kittens and 3 outstanding siblings! There is so much love to go around there and it’s clear when you meet her that she’s definitely living her best life.

Meet Dexter and Daniella! Dexter is 9 years old and he was delighted when he got his baby sister 3 years ago. Daniella loves spending her time playing with him. She loves music like her daddy and plays the piano for Dexter all the time!

Declan is showing his new best friend Bru the ropes, literally! They are always playing together. They love to play tug of war and Declan really enjoys giving him treats… and generally bossing him around too! Declan is showing Bru his secret play here!

Ethan has a baby sister now… Bessy is only nine months old but already swears to protect him always.

Lexi is a 4 year old Australian shepherd. Jensens is also 4. They grew up together and have had a special bond from the start. He insists she sleeps in his bedroom with him every night. They enjoy running and playing in the yard together and she especially loves when he throws the frisbee to her.

Best buds!! Zoe is nine months old but already has a favorite pal! Talon and Zoe quickly fell in love with each other and love playing beyblades together. Most of all, they enjoy drinking hot chocolate after playing in the snow.

Gunnar is a hoot!!! Full of energy! These girls were so well mannered and they braved the cold for our photoshoot! Real troopers!!! Gunnar, just wants to have fun and terrorise his sisters! Move over ladies, my turn to shine!!!

Rielly is 11 months old and already very well mannered! She’s an old soul. Her and Hunter are best buds. Rielly is his shadow. Anywhere he goes, she follows, and they both love to eat so Hunter is often secretly sharing food with her… especially pizza!

Ryker adores his pup Harvey. Whenever he is sad, he cuddles with Harvey to feel better, and Harvey loves it. They love to play tag and Harvey is always it! In the summer, he chases Ryker and tries to steal his shoes. In the winter, he will always try and steal his skates!

Mack does not let Kolten out of his site. He is his protector. They are partners in crime. No matter what Kolten goes or does, Mack will be right there. Kolten has a lot of respect and care for Mack…and that’s easy to see.

Hudson and Ella are best buds! They love playing hockey together and she’ll go crazy for a tennis ball !! For Ella, Hudson is her Napoleon.

Savanah has herself a new girlfriend!!! She thinks Lucy is sooooo cute! They love each other so much already. Lucy chases Savanah around in circles endlessly!

Ollie loves toys!!! Fetch is his favourite game to play with his best friend Brooke. Both love walking together and Ollie especially loves cuddles.

Kira loves playing tea time with her 2 best friends Mayia and Dominic. Mayia likes to hides the treats in the teapot and serves them to Kira one by one.

Good boy Ollie! He’s such a great big brother! Grace enjoys cuddling on the couch with Ollie reading him books or watching TV. Ollie likes when she gives him belly rubs and Grace likes to sing him songs.
