My 3d Printed Jewellery Collection Tells The Story Of A Lonely Worm Who Meets His Soil Mate…
“Life of a worm” is a 3D jewellery project that started with the idea to shine a light on creatures who are normally kept in the shadows. Greatest artists and creators are often found underground, and worms are a perfect example of this in nature. I wanted to turn this somewhat underappreciated species into glamorous, shiny and fun objects that reward us with confidence and shine.
The story starts with a lonely worm who has rolled into a ring to escape his sadness and tough times. Until one day, quite by accident, he met his soil mate and the couple formed a bracelet… After this chance encounter life changed forever and the next cycle of underground baby artists, earrings, was soon born…

Lonely worm
Part 1 of the “Life of a worm” quadrilogy, this ring tells a story of a lonely earthworm squirming around in search of a soulmate… In response to tough conditions of the underground world and extreme loneliness, the worm has dug deep into the soil and rolled himself into a ring to slow down his body functions. He’ll stay in this position until the conditions improve or until he meets his perfect mate (which could be just around the burrow)…
Worms mating
Our lonely hero has found his soil mate! They met under very interesting circumstances. While our guy was digging a tunnel deeper and deeper underground to escape his loneliness, another worm, unknowingly was digging in the opposite direction until they came face to face and realised that both had exactly the same colour eyes! It was love at first sight. The couple can’t get enough of each other and are busy mating all the time, as this bracelet shows.
Laying eggs
The pair kept trying for babies for months but due to droughts and harsh environmental conditions in their region it did not happen as quick as they hoped. They began to consider adoption and even visited a local worm orphanage before one day accidentally discovering that, finally, our hero was pregnant. The pendant captures the moment our hero began to lay eggs!
Baby worms
It’s baby worm season! While the parents are still busy mating, out of the eggs layed in the previous part come brand new worms. In the last part of the quadrilogy, they roll into a beautiful pair of earrings. And the life cycle starts again for the baby worms. Soon they’ll be out there digging tunnels and looking for a perfect match…
