When my second child was born, I started to turn snippets of our family life into short comics. They were very simple, but I liked them and my friends seemed to like them too, so they encouraged me to start posting my comics on social media. That's when I realized most parents could relate to those situations. It was a lot of fun to connect with other parents in this way. In fact, it was so much fun that I posted more and more comics and today, it has become my job! It's been years since my first post, and I have had four more children since.
With a big family at home, inspiration never fails!

Listening To My Child Tell Me A Story
Unfair
Pregnant Women Around Me vs. Me
To be fair, the people around you don't show their vulnerable side around every single person. They're not flawless, you're just not seeing their private life.
Congrats

Smile!
Dont do that, your kid will think they're weird. It's just a phase and they will learn to have natural smile. Maybe tell them to practise faces in front of a mirror as in a fun way, don't make them think it's something wrong with them!
Precious Times
Frankly, it are just a few months, but you will remember them for a lifetime. It is hard, and it can be incredibly hard, but the love given to the small ones during these few months will be a tailwind blowing for their lifetimes. (Being told this while being oveslept and awaiting another night of a baby with belly problems is not the most productive thing, though.)

Oh Yeah, Why Didn't I Think Of That
I have insomnia. If I had a magic genie I would ask for the secret to falling asleep
I had insomnia for years. What helped me was a combination of building very strong bedtime routine, turning off all monitors after 9pm, turning on a red light in the evening and some months with magic pills prescribed by a shrink. The shrink was kinda like a genie from a lamp I guess. 🤷♀️
Load More Replies..."So you have depression? Just decide to be happy! You are poor? Work harder and spend less! You are too ugly to be loved and you feel lonely? Just fake confidence!" Seriously, those people are despicable.
For those of you out there struggling with insomnia: I feel you. Try Melatonin pills or if you don't want to take actual medicine I am told that natural melatonin sources like cherries are good too. Some other things that might help are: darken/lighten the room so that it is comfortable, not too bright or you wont sleep. A damp cool cloth over your eyes. Read a book for a bit to relax. And above all, try to realize that it is okay not to be sleeping, because if you worry about not sleeping you are NEVER going to sleep! I hope this helps!
Not really, more like person-who's-never-experienced-insomnia-suggesting since he isn't trying to explain anything & as an insomniac I've gotten this response from an equal number of women.
Load More Replies...My fiance can fall asleep in seconds. I have major insomnia and sometimes he will wake up early and jm just laying there playing on my phone (after having been up for hours) and tell him i couldn't sleep. And EVERYTIME he scoffs and says WhY cOuLdN't YoU sLeEp??? As if I hadn't told him about my insomnia the last 8 years 😑
Oh my gosh! Why didn’t I think about that -_- yeah I hate these people. Edit: oof I didn’t read the title before making this comment

A Choice
You guys got to chose?? I used to have to wear whatever I was given

Maybe
I thought kids take maybe as a "no"? My siblings do half the time and have a go at me for it.
Most people who have kids don't really think about why they're doing it. It's just something that people do, right? But WHY? To propogate the planet, as the Bible orders? Well, the planet's already plenty full, thank you kindly (read the brilliant thriller 10:59 by N Baker to see exactly how full!), and as a parent of two kids, I often find myself wondering why I had them in the first place. I love them, sure, but did I need them? No. And by the way, I gave up my successful career and stayed at home to look after my kids for 8 years so my wife could complete her Master's degree, so I know all about stay-home-parenting.
At least you let yourself contemplate these things. Lots of people refuse to.

I can see, looking at the comments sections of these posts, why people choose not to have kids. They’ll just grow up hating one another in this environment. Great post though!
I know a couple men who chose to stay at home with the kiddos while the other half earned (better salary, degree, etc.), and one told me that he got so much mockery among the "stay-home mommies" *AND* from "the guys" that he ended up saying he was "working on a novel" just to avoid the flak. Moral being: Parenting is WORK. And it's unrelenting. And be kind. you never know what a parent is going through. (Not a parent. Taking a wild guess based on observations.)
There’s not much interesting about motherhood. These comics are all kinda always the same complaints. “I’m tired! My kid is messy! What happened to my personal life / space? I’m frazzled! My legs are hairy!” Okay girl we know. Every mom says that same stuff. Tell us something we don’t know. How’s your vagina and nips? Did your husband change? Is there anything enjoyable about kids other than that you claim they’re cute? What’s tax season like? Do you feel like you’re in school again? How are other millennial moms? Everyone already knows you are tired and hairy, we have eyes.
I wish the comics about mother hood would change their tune, too. And there are different types of mothers with different recourses. I wish we could see that type of motherhood instead of the same old complaints. I realise this is the reality for many, but money, people who help, the country you live in/ culture change the experience, making motherhood unique to every parent.

Load More Replies...My son didn’t sleep through the night until he was nearly 5. It was awful. That whole time was awful. Very few moments of joy. I love him more than I can describe. But I never encourage my friends to have children. If I could go back I probably wouldn’t do it. For many reasons, one being the planet. Let’s be real here. I did it for selfish reasons and I was wrong. And I’ll never lie to people about what it’s really like.
Those comics always add more and more reasons up why I don't want children
Is it wrong that I want to show these to my 7yo? I think she will see the similarities and will definitely find them funny!!
She made comics about her own experiences. If you want ones about you, make them yourself.
Load More Replies...Well those comics are made by a mother based on her experiences on MOTHERHOOD. There are comics about fathers too, usually made by fathers on their own experiences. Maybe try searching fatherhood on bp?
