Mom Warns Everyone About The Dangers Of Anti-Vaxxing After Her Daughter Ends Up In ER
The flaming hot debate between those for and against vaccinating children has flared up once again. Registered nurse Camille Echols’ daughter Ashley recently had to be treated in the ER after being exposed to a child with chickenpox, which prompted the mom to pen a scathing essay about ‘anti-vaxxers’ and the danger they create for kids like hers.
Anti-vaxxers have used a number of medical and ethical arguments to make a case for themselves. Some take issue with the supposed ‘harmful ingredients’ inside vaccines that they believe may cause allergic reactions, pneumonia, and even neurological disabilities like autism, notions which have largely been debunked. Others are angered by laws requiring all children to be vaccinated in order to attend public schools, and accuse the government of intervening in personal medical matters.
Despite the curiosity anti-vaxxers provoke, overwhelming evidence from the Centers for Disease Control maintains that vaccines are safe for children and adults, and that they are necessary in order to protect the public. For children like Ashley Echols, who live with compromised immunity, it only takes one unvaccinated child to transmit a disease that could kill them.
Read Camille’s plea below, and tell us what you think in the comments!

Seatbelts can sometimes have negative side effects too, but would you let your children drive without them? No. If children can get vaccinated and their parent choose not to do it, it's child abuse, pure and simple.
Amen. I simply do not understand these anti-vaccine parents. Do they not realize THEY were vaccinated without harm?
Load More Replies...Sally, before vaccines, 500 kids died each year from measles, thousands got brain damage, and millions got sick. But you want to complain that under 400 people in the past 27 years died from vaccines??? That's 15 per year. How many people died from medication side effects or antibiotics allergies each year? But you don't sit there and let your baby die of pneumonia because someone once died from an amoxicillin allergy.
Dawn chappell, that is just the number of accepted deaths. If you research you will see that it is estimated that between 1 and 10% of adverse events are reported so the actual numbers are much higher. Many deaths will be attributed to sids or shaken baby syndrome. Even when parents report, the medical staff often don't bother to hand the report in and please tell me why a mum should rusk killing her healthy baby just Incase another child may get sick. What is this strange notion that we should risk sacrificing our children for the perceived greater good.
I only had 2 vaccines, none in the first year. People are concerned about adding so many, without testing the overall safety of 8 at a time and maybe 25 doses by six months of age...
"Using the MedAlerts search engine, which facilitates an online search of the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) database, as of March 3rd, 2016 there have been 7692 serious adverse events Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) in connection with measles vaccine since 1990, with over half of those occurring in children three years old and under. Of these events 397 were deaths with over half of the deaths occurring in children under three years of age. "
The thing is, that vaccination doesn't have any proven hard negative side effects.
Laura m, I would like to see you say that directly to a mother that has lost her child. I'm sure she will be greatly comforted
That is utter nonsense. If there were no risks there would be no compensation. Over 3 billion has been payed out by the courts in the US alone, funded by the tax payer as 75cents are taken off the profit from each vaccine to pay out to the poor families.
The difference being that if the seat belt is faulty and your child dies, you can sue the manufacturer and they need to do stringent safety tests. Not so with vaccines. The manufacturers are exempt from liability and do not do stringent safety tests. The hpv vaccine is a prime exile whereby many of the test subjects were only monitored for a number of days rather than months or years so we have no longer term studies to prove safety.

All of you are one sided idiots. Chicken pox is not life threatening. You all have officially been brain washed and duped! I am so sick of y'all believing this stupid s**t! Pure and simple, child abuse is putting unknown toxins in your child's body. Child abuse is allowing the government to tell you the most redundant made up lies. Child abuse is not protecting your baby from people like Bill Gates whom want to killed 90% of the population with vaccines and health care. I cant argue with you naive people because most likely your gods are the government, science, and movies....but, I know I have much healthier children now because of my decision (since vaccines injured my son). Most likely if you have kids, they are so damn sickly its frightening. Chicken pox, measles, mumps, and other childhood viruses my cousins, brother, and I have gotten and we are still here strong and not freaking broken. Science and the government makes you scared of every damn c**p that they send out. FOOLS!
You are a paranoid, ignorant twit. Unfortunately, there's no point arguing with someone who does not live in the reality-based world, and who starts from the position that everyone is lying to them (like all cults do), but just for the record, chicken pox does kill many people, only those people aren't here to tell us that they actually were 'broken' and stop the spread of your b******t, because they are in a hole in the ground.
People like you make me frightened for humanity. I'm sincerely disappointed that you have children. Please stop breeding and spreading your ignorance.
I admit I got a little confused. I'm not anti-vax; my kid had all hers. But they don't vaccinate for chicken pox here, in fact, people try to get their kids infected so that they are immunized that way. Measles can cause death and mumps can cause meningitis in young infants and leave them with disabilities. I don't think I've ever heard anything like that about chicken pox? Anybody have more info on that?

So you're admitting the fact that vaccines could cause side effects and knowingly people should take them anyway? Not all anti-vaxxers are entirely opposed to taking it, but want to make people aware of the side-effects.
Vaccines do not cause autism. The study that argued it does has been refuted entirely. It was a study based on 8 children. One of them seemed to have autism-like symptoms, but this was found to be untrue. It is a totally bogus study.
The analogy with the seatbelt is just perfect. I had a friend in college that had his little sister killed in a car crash. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt and was eject from the car when she found herself stuck in it when the fire declared. Knowing that, i still always make sure everyone is buckled in the car, specialy my kids, because just as adam says "a seatbelt is much more likely to save your life". Plus anti-vaxx initiate based on a total lie of Andrew Wakefield. It is just as if you wouldn't buckle up because a coffin maker was shouting everywhere a seatbelt is the most absolute danger!
You know what 'anti' means right? By definition, an anti-vaxxer who isn't opposed to taking vaccines is like a vegetarian who eats meat. Noone is against making people aware of EXISTENT side effects; that is not what the anti-vaxx movement is about. And yes, of course I recommend everyone taking them, because the side effects aren't as bad as the illness itself. A fever is always better than measles, just as a seatbelt is much more likely to save your life than decapitate you.
Most of The so called side effects were fabricated by a quack doctor who lost his license because of it
I'll never understand anti-vaxxers. It's a luxury only rich country can afford.
Definitivly! People do not even understand the luck they have to live in 21st century and in a country where vaccines are accessible. I mean, Black Plague: 30 to 50% of European population killed! Malaria 500 000 people killed each year NOWDAYS! Hell, what we call in France "Spanish Flu" killed more people than WW1! I wonder if the problem doesn't partially come from the fact that we "forgot" to be affraid of dying. We do not remember famines or epidemics. We're supposed to get old, we do not realize that it's not "natural".
Load More Replies...I believe this was quite well explained by someone... Our brains are pattern recognition machines, we find animals in clouds, Jesus on toasts etc. From evolutionary point of view, it is better if you run away from leafs forming a face of predator than not running away from a well hidden predator and getting killed. Therefore it is easier for us to find link between autism and vaccination than not vaccinating and getting ill/dying. There are more "evidence" of autism than dangers from actual illness because vaccinations actually work.
Well, as it was excatly my point.. "People do not even understand the luck they have to live in 21st century and in a country where vaccines are accessible"
I find your examples quite interesting. Is there a vaccine for the Black Death plague? Is there a vaccine against malaria? Is there a vaccine against the Spanish flu? All interesting and terrible mass deaths that have happened in the past and in the case of malaria, as you rightly point out--happen today. There is no vaccine for these........
Exactly that. Before someone dedicated enough to work for one vaccine or another, people get wiped by diseases that are contagious. So not only we take a risk , but we also send the message that this sort of research isnt valued. We have yet to discover important things, why purposely take a step back?
Just trying to clarify not judging a rich country can afford the Medicine or the being Able to be stupid and not take the medicine
The scientist responsible did not commit suicide. In fact he still preaches at talks to convince others to let kids be at risk. A man with morals that low wouldn't do the decent thing and kill himself.
Yep, Andrew Wakefield - still pushing his b******t. That guy should get covered in eggs and tomatoes wherever he goes, and not be still profiting from it >_<
Load More Replies...I can't believe people FALL for his b******t though. I mean, I hate him to the point where he should probably take out a pre-emptive restraining order, but goddamn it, even I'm tempted to make cash off of people being idiots because there are large masses of people who are easy to fool! I could probably start a semi-successful money-grabbing cult and people would still join it even though I say I'm an atheist all over the place. Point is: don't let people get away with it.

June Burnett Amen...these people believe b******t too and are one sided. They dislike your comment because they have no reason or commen sense. They also follow propaganda and lies but they're right in what they believe. It's sad on how many deaths and sickness vaccines causes but these people don't care about those victim's. I see now that we live in a intolerant and one sided world and people don't care for those against things like this. I pray one day they will at least reason on their own and not use science their god to back up their b******t. Science is still filled with not perfect men that are mainly out for money. Bill gates said 1/3 of the population we can bring down (kill) with vaccines and health care! Wow! Btw, if you want to put toxins in your child that's your business..go ahead I won't condemn you or call you names.

But you have no trouble with the big pharma companies making money off chemicals injected into children? I've seen a lot more than ONE scientist admitting to the proof of harm from vaccines and many doctors who admit it as well. And I know families who have children who HAVE been harmed. So who's selling the bullshiggety???
Err, Wakefield is alive, well, and still wreaking havoc. He lives in Texas , now I believe.
Yes, I agree. He lied and it cost some peoples' lives :( But it's awesome that this girl recovered! :)

Maci, what did he lie about?
Perhaps you should research Richard deer the journalist who instigated the witch hunt against Andrew Wakefield to see that he has ties to the pharmaceutical companies and the fact that although Andrew couldn't afford to sue at the time, this man did take the case to court whereby the judge let him know in no uncertain terms that he was disgusted at the way they were treated and reinstated his licence. Watch the film Vaxxed to get more info on all that plus the cdc whistle-blower who showed that they have known for 15 years of the associated risks of the mmr especially amoungst African American boys. While your at it look up plusirix. It was one of the earlier versions of the mmr and was withdrawn in Canada if I remember the country right when it was shown to cause meningitis but was then sent to other developing countries where once again it caused meningitis again.
Sorry that should say the a co author of the study appealed his removal of licence and had it reinstated so the paper has been shown to not actually be fraudulent as claimed
