Quite possibly because it is the longest running sitcom....ever....not just animated......sitcom period.. in the history of television. I can't even imagine how many episodes there have been, but it is still running with new ones to this day. I have only seen one of these that I can remember.

She is more than a support. And also homer lives to serve her too. She just hasnt written that bit down because her character is to be humble to the point of seemingly meek. She doesnt realise when she does things that are above and beyond (like a lot of moms) such as tell lisa she can be sad if she wants, supports bart for who he is, or have the balls to write to the first lady on behalf of her family. She represents a huge portion of moms who are so unknowingly bad a*s and hold the family together without realising it.

Homer was always a loyal friend and husband. He does everything for his family, no matter how humiliating and difficult. Even though he is not smart, he is an exceptional man.
