I love the one comparing masturbation & going to the bathroom with feeding a baby. Yeah, those are all the same, NOT. If adults don't have to hide in secret to eat, neither should babies.

The baby was nursing already as it came up to be her turn. You can't schedule a young baby like that - if she's hungry, feed her. I am pretty sure that if mom had just pulled the baby off her breast and said wait, I'll be right back, that baby wouldn't have just said, "Ok, sure mom, no prob" - nope - that kid would have screamed bloody murder because she was hungry. Ok, now you've got a screaming hungry baby disrupting the show - what kind of shaming would she have endured for that? Child abuse/neglect! Freak out!! You can't win either way when there are people out there who just want to bash. She fed her child. Big whooping deal. I nursed four babies, over the years, in public and nobody ever noticed. The only time it was noticed was when my friend thought my baby disappeared because it was under the cover on my shoulder, lol.

Meh, I don't care. Feed your baby, or don't. I really couldn't care less. It's your baby, your body, your opinion. Really boring, actually.

I don't have a problem with her breastfeeding. I'm just a little leery of using a child as a fashion prop.

Let me play devil's advocate and see if I can attain a personal best in my vote downs. First, there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding. That's a given. However, this is the Sports Illustrated swimsuit show, an offshoot of the SI swimsuit issue which is solely dedicated to taking attractive women and their breasts and sexualizing them. In the middle of an evening of people drooling over the stream of hot models parading down a runway, a woman comes out breastfeeding her child. A bit out of place considering the theme of the evening. Second, do you really think this wasn't planned? Junior couldn't wait the 30 seconds it takes mom to walk to the end of the runway and back? No, this was a PR stunt to get people talking and that is exactly what we're doing.

Some people are just born to be against anything.. they just have to protest..

Feels like some of those people aren't actually aware it's the only reason women have boobs in the first place.

I was actually looking at the rest of her, looks like a real woman - not a teenager & that in itself makes this a more diverse runway show. Very cool.

If it is not appropriate to eat in public, then why are there restaurants? Babies have to eat too. You might just say it is essential for life. As a mom of three who breastfeed until they were one, I can say that I grew weary of having to nurse in bathrooms and other disgusting places.

To all those idiots out there disgusted and ranting or pissed over it - you wouldn't even be alive if humans hadn't breastfed their babies. They did it while running away from attacks, while preparing dinner during vicious storms - wherever, whenever. Your attention seeking don't disturb "my perception of when breastfeeding is allowed" tweets are just bunk.

I can't understand all the hate and debate about public brestfeeding. Here in Argentina is something completely normal and nobody would do a fuss about it.

Honestly, all I kept thinking was "Poor baby getting jiggled around while momma's walking" lol I always covered up in public, but it was more for my child and my's benefit than for other people. If I was at home and people were over I never covered up. If I felt comfortable enough to have someone in my house I felt comfortable enough to breastfeed. Though that did lead to an amusing episode of a male friend yelling "Oh Holy Lord!' and covering his eyes because to him friend boob was different than regular boob. I still laugh about that to this day :p

When there's no way to get comments, likes, shares, s**t..we talk about breastfeeding. Lame. It became a subject that's identical to religion, footbal, politics... Everybody should satisfy all their needs everywhere, anytime and anyhow! Stop kicking out people f@#ing in airplanes toilets!

I thought it was amazing. As a young mother I was terrified to breast feed in public and ended up doing it in some awful places (public toilets in a park was a memorable one). It never occurred to me at the time that it should be any different, I just went with societal norms. I wish I'd been this brave and maybe I would have had a happier baby, who wasn't forced to wait until I got home or was shoved under a duffel coat to feed by an embarrassed and stressed mama. The negative comments are up there with a woman (a mum btw) who said she would punch a mum and her baby if they breastfed in front of her kids. Just bizarre attitude.

I really struggle to find any sense and meaning in this.

"a spontaneous decision" Ah the old, time honored euphimism for "publicity stunt". While I agree that breastfeeding is perfectly normal and a part of life, she could have done that backstage. Pissing is also normal and a part of life, yet we have to go to a specialized room to do it. Somehow I don't see people pissing in the streets as 'empowering’ and ‘inspirational’, but as prosecuted by the police.

Disgusting people, shaming a woman for doing something natural. How is it attention-seeking to feed your baby when she's hungry? You should all be ashamed of yourself, and I hope to God that you are no longer able to procreate as punishment for your judgment.

I don't mind breastfeeding. I mind a swimsuit show. It's 2018, people, why do we still have half-naked women on a catwalk?

? I don't understand the problem. Is it because the child in nursing? Well, breast milk is clearly designed for human consumption so what's the problem? Is it because a nipple might be exposed? Every person on the planet has at least two nipples so why are they taboo for women but not men ? I don't see what the brouhaha was about.
