30 Simple Yet Striking Tattoos By Former Turkish Cartoonist That You’ll Want On Your Skin
Ahmet Cambaz had a late start in the tattooing game, but has already proved himself as a formidable ink artist. After 7 years of doing cartoon work for an Istanbul-based magazine, a tattoo equipment set gifted to him in 2013 by his wife caused a shift in his creative vision, and his true craft began to shine through.
Simple, yet sublime, the designs Cambaz produces have a distinctly modern feel, yet also remind us of the whimsical storybooks we used to read as children. "My tattoos are micro style, geometric, and direct," he told Vice Creators. "We are living in a complicated age. That's why I prefer to create minimalist lines in my pieces... Everything is now needing to become simpler." What the tattoos forgo in colour and convention, they make up for in quiet, understated beauty.
Enjoy some of this Turkish tattoo extraordinaire's finest work below, and tell us which ones you would book a flight to Istanbul to have inked on your skin for life.

It's real people; cats DO run the universe. All hail over new feline overlords!
I love this! I am curious now. What would happen if you you threw a paper airplane in space? I have this image of the plane just hanging in the same place and the astronaut spinning around in a small circle :)
I don't have any tattoos and I am almost 47 years old. I would love any of these on my body. THEY ARE AMAZING!!
Doing such detailed and clear work in such a small area requires serious skill. Many tattoo artists can't put that much detail into such a small picture and have it come out so clear. This guy's skill can't be overstated!
Incredibly, incredibly talented. The detail in these tiny tattoos is amazing. I wish I could get to Turkey to have one done!
I've never once considered getting a tattoo until now and I'm in my forties so that's saying something. Looks like the artist is in Turkey so unless they come I'll likely remain tat free.
The best thing about those tattoos is the fact that they are both small, secretive and special. Many good ideas for many different types of personalities! I'd really like to have one, which only I would be able to see. Of course, I have personal favorites but in general they are both awesome.
It may take longer , but, either they will fade , or some of the older women I've seen in the hospital ...wobble with movement. No tattoo ages well . I've seen the gambit of blurred, distorted tattoos on seniors on every imaginable site on the human body .
Load More Replies...These are all so perfect. If I get a tattoo, I think I'll get something similar to this. Nice, simple, small and beautiful.
Shouldn't the title be Turkish Former Cartoonist? He's still Turkish, right?
I think I may go and get another tatoo now .A cat, or maybe a penguin, no a tight rope waker, maybe a tree....
Very stylish in their minimalism. Far better than those stupid sleeve tattoos of things that mean nothing to the sheep that have them.
That's a pretty ignorant and judgmental thing to say! Well done, you dropped a negativity bomb talking out of your a*s.
