Midwest Artist Transforms Landscapes With Unbelievable Metal Figures (14 Pics)
Midwest-based artists Eric & Faith Thomas take scrap foundry metal to create animal and human figures to transform outdoor space. The rusted statues blend with the natural changing colors of the four seasons and become reminiscent of the natural landscapes seen in the Northwoods. The figures appear to be in motion bringing the reclaimed metal to life.
These incredibly talented American artists based in Central Wisconsin started their artistic path creating concrete landscapes when one day they decided to strip the material down to the framework and focus on metal as the primary medium. From sketching the concepts to placing the life-size pieces in treetops, it’s a hands-on process to transform the outdoor or indoor space. They’ve commissioned pieces for commercial and residential spaces to create both decorative and functional recycled art across the US.
