“Free People” Released Shorts That Barely Cover Anything, And People Are Having Fun With It Online (30 Reactions)
Fashion trends come and go. In fact, the speed they're currently changing is very fast, and if you're not attentive enough, it can be very easy to miss out on them.
Apparently, "micro" shorts are making their way into the fashion mainstream right now. Well, maybe it would be more correct to say they're trying to, even though the piece of clothing is facing some backlash infused with humor. At least, that's what happened when a popular fashion brand posted about their new collection of the shortest of shorts.
Today, we picked out the best responses "Free People" received under their announcement of the "micro" shorts collection.

"Free People," as they describe themselves, is a specialty lifestyle brand focused on bohemian fashion and one-of-a-kind clothing, accessories, shoes, and beauty.
On March 1st of this year, "Free People" posted a post on their brand’s Instagram account that soon went pretty viral.
In the viral post, the brand announced the new collection of micro shorts. People went wild in the comments, and many great jokes about such a small piece of clothing were born.
Part of me hopes that the deleted comment has something to do with Richard Gere.
But the clothing piece isn’t such a new thing. For example, back in 2021, “short shorts for men” were a trend that was applauded by quite a lot of people online after some celebrity men were spotted wearing them. Even further back in the day, celebrities such as Elton John and Tom Selleck used to wear something like “micro” shorts. And when you look at the photos, well, some of them are quite similar to the ones "Free People" is selling now.
Also, a probable reason why “Free People” decided to release the micro shorts line right now is because some celebrities are pushing this new trend.
For instance, big names like Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, and Emily Ratajkowski have been seen posing or walking with very short shorts that some might even hesitate to call shorts. So, why, as a business, not jump on the bandwagon, right?
Some say that the shortest shorts are a trend born as a rebellion against Dadcore, where people wear knee-length denim shorts, the ones dads usually wear. The internet even gave them a name -- jorts.
So, let’s wait and see if the micro shorts rebellion against jorts will become a new trend among the general public, even though, so far, it’s nothing more than a very funny joke among folks on the internet.

This comment deserves to be much higher rated. A pity I can only upvote it once!
Even women not knowing the outer part - consisting of the labia and so on- is the vulva. If you ever get sunshine in your vagina something is seriously wrong with you
I hate it when my majora slips past! You'll need to carry a privacy screen with you just to tuck everything back where it belongs!
I'm old enough to remember "hot pants". That trend lasted two days at my school before the school principal banned them.
I still own hot pants. They don't have silly big pockets, but they were probably smaller than those. About the size of a pair of bath shorts.
Load More Replies...I was expecting something a lot more skimpy than what is presented. None of these people have seen shorts from the 70s I guess.
Yeah are the commenters from the 50’s or something??
Load More Replies...I don’t understand? They’re ugly and unnecessary but these people are acting like they’ve never seen shorts before. The pockets are a bit much tho
Hush now! Women have been begging for pockets longer than you been alive. We want pockets!
Load More Replies...They're not that revealing. Not to my taste, but I've seen hotpants much shorter and tighter than that. Remember Kylie Minogue to the Spinning Around video?
Music video wardrobes are typically not the kind of thing most people wear as street clothes though.
Load More Replies...Looks like typical short shorts daisy dukes that have been around for decades
Probably not. They probably failed 5th grade. /joke
