With all the hype around the Snapchat 'genderswap' filter right now, there has inevitably been a race to link it to the other hype beasts of our times, Game of Thrones and anything to do with the Marvel universe. We humans are pretty predictable really, aren't we?
After our efforts last year to do just this, but with something called 'Faceapp' instead (anyone remember that?), we here at Bored Panda thought we'd see if the Snapchat filter does a better job. What do you think? Oddly enough, there are only male to female transformations featured so far, would you like to see how the female Marvel actors look as males too? As previously mentioned this has all been done before when 'Faceapp' was all the craze back in 2018. Using neural networks to create photorealistic facial transformations, people were genderswapping, making themselves look older or younger and giving themselves different hairstyles. Now, Snapchat has jumped on the bandwagon and people have started messing around with their appearance once again.

But it seems that by far the most popular genderswap at the moment is from male to female. While Snapchat gives both options, a brief look at the most popular and viral images tend to feature guys checking themselves out as females. Why do you think this might be?
