We Share Our Daily Life Bridging Cultural Gaps As An International Couple In These 28 Illustrations
Life is complicated—we all know that, without even mentioning the relationships. Dealing with different cultures sounds even more complex, huh? What about getting stuck for months in a house during your honeymoon because a devastating virus hit the whole world in a matter of a few weeks, giving no time to pack? Well, nothing seems to be impossible for us.
My name is Milia, and I am an Indonesian pharmacist. My husband, Matteo, is a creative Italian illustrator, and we both have a passion for art. A few months ago, we were living the dream in Bali, got married on a remote tropical island, and moved for a while to Italy for the honeymoon and gathering with the family. Shortly after, the lockdown forced us to stay.
No drama, just opportunities, so we began to share our daily life bridging cultural gaps with funny illustrations. Spicy food, painful yoga, romantic moments, huge portions, overloaded bikes, sweet hopes, and much more. Our life seems to be an endless adventure! Scroll down to see our couple illustrations, and don’t forget to upvote the best!

Oooh...if/when you have kids, they'll be so beautiful. I always thought mixed race people were gorgeous, maybe because they have this little je-ne-sais-quoi no one else has.

Do you have children? They are/will be true citizens of the world.

cultural gaps? MB a funny wedding life with personal differences but not that title
As a westerner married to an Indonesian for 10 years I had a great laugh about many of these and can relate very well.
This was thoroughly lovely. I think we are all in need of a reminder that there is love, humour, only one human race, and sheer wholesomeness in the world the way this year is going so far. Please do your bit to make the world a little bit better today, wash your hands and take both Covid-19 and racism seriously!
I am hungarian-jewish with a pinch of gypsy and my boyfriend is romanian... I always cook, but never with the hungarian staple: Eros Pista (hot red pepper paste)
All in all, better left unposted. The art is overbearing--I've seen so many similar posted on BP that I'm tempted to conclude this style comes from an app or program. Apart from that, authors seems excessively impressed with being half of an "international couple"--as if there were something unusual, even rare. And--oh, wow! Look at YOU bridging those cultural gaps! How daring! You're just two rather ordinary people doing rather ordinary things, and you should get over yourselves.
Why all these artists think that we wanna know how cute their relationship is? These are not even funny, like katana comics, for example. I think that there is some psichological trouble behind like I need yo show everyone how happy I am in my relationship and how special we are look at me! Because there are some issues behind
I think it's cute even if not every single one is funny. And this couple in particular are rather relatable to me personally as someone in an interracial relationship (Czech and South African/Indian). I think it's just a wholesome attempt to make people smile. Plus who doesn't love to see love!😊
