Usually, I tend to think I communicate better through my paintings than through my words, and in this special occasion couldn’t be an exception.
A few months ago, I created a wall painting to ask my French girlfriend marry me, meanwhile we were separated for nearly a month due to professional reasons. I titled this piece “Anillave”, in a reference to a ring (anillo) and a key (llave). Both the composition and aesthetics are a tribute to the Art Nouveau movement, as it always has fascinated me with the delicacy and beauty of the work of Alphonse Mucha.
And once we met again, I took her in front of the mural blindfolded et… voilà! Fortunately, she said yes.
