Since Marcela Nowak moved to NYC, she had never fallen asleep before 2 AM. She decided to dedicate her nights to her passion to photography. Marcela used to spend hundreds of hours walking around the city, taking long exposure shots of the busy streets, or just capturing almost empty Times Square around 4 AM.
Once she had pictures of all the place in the city, she figured it was time to start taking pictures of people.
Obsessed with neon signs and street lights, she started a new chapter in her photography career.
“At first, I began experimenting with self-portraits.
Then, I kept asking my friends to let me shoot them during our nights out, right before we were about to enter the bar.”- said Marcela. “I always kept them for at least 15 minutes. They never said anything, but I knew they were a bit frustrated”.
Soon, Marcela developed her own, unique style.
