Using my own lifestyle as a source of inspiration, at some point I found myself making huge mandala designs out of superfoods and/or other natural materials. In these colorful mandalas, my fascination for pure ingredients fuses with my passion for sacred geometry.

Love-mandala made from nuts and seeds
I can work for days on one mandala pattern, intuitively laying out all the ingredients and letting it all expand naturally untill I feel it is done, or run out of space. I use only organic superfoods or other natural materials and photograph these unique artworks afterwards.

Shining sun-mandala – organic foods
Just like the famous Tibetan sand-mandala’s I do not ‘preserve’ the end result, nor is this my intention while making them. I work in silence or while listening to relaxing music and simply enjoy the meditative state that comes with creating these beautiful images. After taking the pictures, this edible art ends up in enormous salads, to be eaten with friends, or back into nature.

My current work as a designer/blogger is directly aiming at the field of sustainable, conscious and organic living. If you feel you can use my food art designs for any specific project to share the beauty of pure organic foods with a broader audience, I would love to hear from you!
