Regular Guys vs Male Supermodels Side-by-side In Underwear Ads
Models are held up as ideal images of human beauty, but when they model the clothes we wear, it can be hard to tell how we’d look in those clothes because the majority of us look nothing like those models. Perhaps that’s why The Sun, a British tabloid, published a series of photographs comparing male models in underwear commercials to photos with the same underwear worn by regular John Does.
The result is a tongue-in-cheek and effective commentary on models and our society’s perception of beauty, with the “regular guys” emulating the models in perhaps every way except bodily form and the amount of spray brushing they’ve received. They’re all in the same poses and all are wearing the same designer underwear.
Which models do you think look better? Which ads make you want to buy underwear more?
