You realise that my comment didn't have anything to do with whose in power or health care but was just a response to the initial general statement?

Free market capitalism will always end with monopolies and colluding duopolies gouging every possible dime out of the bulk of the public. The only way capitalism doesn't end with a handful of oligarchs vacuuming up all the value created by productivity is if it is tightly regulated to prohibit amassing ridiculous fortunes. No sane society would permit billionaires to exist. And the hate filled gullible morons have just handed control of every arm of the US Federal government to people who have openly indicated that they intend to hand explicit control over laws and the economy to sociopathic billionaires.

But somehow the sociopathic mass murderer-for-profit he killed is the victim.

20+ years of corporate propaganda delivered by shills working for a purported "news" source has created a vast population of voters who are living in an objectively false "reality". In their wholly imaginary world, the people whose sole purpose is to vacuum up cash to be delivered to the billionaire class, and do as much harm as possible to anybody who can be othered have established themselves as the "saviors of the real America". The people who have at least a nominal intent to do some good in the world are evil schemers bent on dictatorship, replacing the "good" (white) true Americans with dirty criminal brown immigrants, and unleashing on those true (white) Americans the abuse and disenfranchisement that they've been heaping on brown people for centuries. And a near universal characteristic is that they're quantifiably stupid. They are genuinely unable to comprehend the difference between being prevented from harming others, and being compelled to take direct actions they dislike.

So you see things like public employees insisting that their rights are somehow being violated when they're expected to do the job they have already agreed to do - say for example, issue a marriage license to people they disapprove of marrying. Or serve -all- of the public like their business license requires, without refusing them based on the demographic of the person they want to deny. They call this "religious freedom", but it's the exact opposite - they demand and are increasingly being given the authority to impose their religion on other people. The fascists have been playing a long game of small incremental attacks on civil rights. And carefully planting reliably far-right ideologues at all levels of the Federal judiciary. All the attention is focused on trump. But the one person who is most responsible for the descent of the US from quasi-democracy to overt fascism is Moscow Mitch McConnell. His decades-long campaign of poisoning the courts is now complete.

There are ideologues at every level, who will reliably push their agenda upstairs to the Supreme Court. A Supreme Court which has recently; stripped women and girls of bodily autonomy and full citizenship, given presidents the authority to assassinate political opponents with impunity (as long as it's the right president and the right opponent. If the "wrong" one tried it, that decision would suddenly magically mean something completely different) and legalized bribery of public and elected officials as long as you're careful to refrain from paying them before they've rigged something for you. And they're just getting warmed up. So, carefully and relentlessly attacking reality to prime the pump; nibbling away access to civil rights so the complacent wouldn't notice how extreme it's become until too late, and corrupting the courts. Fascism successfully installed, game over for the foreseeable future.

Try living in KY like how much longer can that a*****e live and continue to get away with this s**t!

Less than one third of the country voted for him. Less than one third voted for his opponent, although actually MORE actual people voted for Harris than Trump. More than one third did not vote at all. Trump is explained by fear, complacency and ignorance. And more than a little bit by our corrupt system and the lunacy that is the electoral college. Our system is broken, probably permanently. Edit to say Sand Ers says it more eloquently and is 100% right.

Because the people who are in positions to pass laws to prevent it only got to those position through bribery. Why would they change a system that is directly benefitting them? It's corruption all the way down.

I think that’s something most of us would like an answer to.
