We Find The Filming Locations Of Movies And Tv Series In Real Life And Recreate Their Scenes (30 Pics)
6 years ago, we had an idea that we never thought would work! We both love to travel around the world and we were looking for special destinations. Our idea was searching for filming locations and trying to take a picture that looks as close as possible to the original scene. When we took the first picture, we realized this is the perfect way for us to spend our holidays. In 2018, we decided to publish them on Instagram.
Taking a picture like this means:
1. We have to find the right costumes. We have to ask our friends and families if they have similar clothes. If not, DIY is always a good option, or we have to buy them.
2. We need to find the exact locations. It's often difficult because the environment or cities have changed a lot during the years. Also, the movie companies use CGI and it takes a lot of time to find the spot.
3. When we reach these locations, they're often way different than expected. It can be rainy when we need the sun, it can be crowded when we need to be alone, it can be very cold when we have to wear shorts. There are a lot of problems.
We are always very happy when we make it. Especially when we discover the small differences in the pictures—for example, the lions in the background of Outlander changed their color.
We often get asked why we are doing this. The answer is easy—it's a lot of fun!

Really cool re creation, but can anyone explain the blood on the pillars in the TV scene?!

I know the place, cause I live in Berlin for 40 years now. It is not the train station from the recreation. The scene was shot in a pedestrian underground passway near the "ICC",a fair area. We used to skate there back in the days. The recreation is taken elsewhere. You can see it by the top lights.

I love this! I dont travel specifically to find iconic locations, but if I am close (and that might be up to and including a 10 hour drive) I will make an effort to find them. My thing is to buy a postcard of the place and then see if I can get the same shot. This was fun and I hope you get to continue it!
