I love to make pictures of robots. It’s a way to explore emotions that are difficult to articulate in other ways. I’m especially interested in the feelings we don’t have names for. The bits between words like ‘happy’ and ‘sad’.
I don’t make pictures to prompt a particular emotion. I’m trying to present scenes that are open to interpretation, so the viewer can make their own story from what they see. I love it when two people can interpret an image in different ways!
There’s no deep meaning. They’re just pictures of lonely robots trying to make sense of where they are. I think that’s something we all have in common.
A new book of my robot art is now funding on Kickstarter – http://bit.ly/Transmissions6
