Lockdown Diaries

Beginning in April 2020, the entire country went through one of the severe lockdowns. Many people picked up various long-lost hobbies during the period. Few picked up singing on platforms like smule while many others picked up cooking.

My wife picked up her long-lost affair with the paint and brush, inspired by my sister-in-law. By then, there were countless DIY videos on YouTube on how to use household wastes like glass bottles, plastic containers, and cardboard boxes. My wife diligently watched them for a few days before getting into action. By that time, the lockdown restrictions had been eased a bit.

Although I was like a spectator watching the match, my role was that of a twelfth man—accompanying her to procure paints and brushes. The final output was awesome.

A chartered accountant by profession and a traveler by heart, he does carry some opinions on his sleeve. He can be seen surfing inside the accounting books and journal entries during the weekdays while in the alleys of Dublin or streets of Tuticorin or nooks of Singapore or the alcoves of Paris on the weekends. He has worked with global companies like General Electric, KPMG, and Capgemini over the last 20 plus years during which he has traveled across the globe and has spent time in cities like Richmond, Mumbai, Hyderabad, London, Kolkata, Anandpur Sahib, Dublin, and Bangalore apart from the City of Delhi which he calls as his hometown. He likes to travel, especially to obscure places with a historical connection, reading, movies, and photography apart from blogging.

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies. I also love traveling, concerts, and cats (heavy on that, because I am a cat mom).
