Previously, when we first shared Lingvistov's comics, the talented artist was working on their debut book. Now, after a year of anticipation, we are happy to announce that the book is finally available for purchase! If you find yourself captivated by these cute illustrations, we highly recommend exploring the first volume of Lingvistov Cat Comics.
Can't let the precious slip. Why, look what happened to Smeagol's ring.
Lingvistov's comics possess an undeniable authenticity. The artist finds joy in drawing what they already know. As mentioned before, their inspiration stems from personal life experiences with their cats. "I lie thinking about my day and my cats, and images come to my mind."
::BEEP BEEP:: PROXIMITY ALARM. PROXIMITY ALARM. Human has encroached within acceptable limits. Deploy the bean-holders for immediate evacuation from the premises!
The comics received a lot of attention after being first shared on Bored Panda in 2017. At that time, their illustrations featured a variety of animals. However, as the artist progressed, their focus shifted towards cats.
Cats are crepuscular. That means neither nocturnal nor diurnal, but rather they are awake at dusk and dawn. (and sleep all day)
If you would like to see more content specifically dedicated to cats, here are a few other comic artists on Bored Panda that we love: Pizza Cake Comics is well known for creating hilarious comics about her cats. Then there is Cody Stone Stowe, who also creates comics based on his cat with dark and fantastical twists. And lastly, Lucas Turnbloom, a cartoonist who draws black and white comics dedicated to our feline friends.
Ever had the stare-down while you’re eating? I have had up to 4 or 5 cats eyeballing me while I tried to eat. It’s unnerving. (And yes, we have had up to 5 cats at one time.)
My 16 years old cat still zooms a few times per week, he still thinks of himself being a young man :D
Bouche only meows when she wants me to feed her my food, turn off the thunderstorms, or entertain her by waggling the wand toy at her for an hour.
I had a friend who insisted she was a Cat Whisperer and that my standoffish-to-strangers old lady Wintressia would love her. Friend came to visit and basically acted like Elmyra from Tiny Toons. Unsurprisingly, my cat hid behind the couch XD
They forgot the part where you finally get yourself in place to take the perfect picture, then the cat breaks the pose and walks toward you.
If I'm out on the deck, where Bouche absolutely refuses to go, she sits at the door and whines until I come in, and then ignores me.
Yep. I swear my younger cat has the ability to pinpoint my cuticles/nailbeds with his canine teeth whenever I try to give him a treat.
One of our cats, the youngest one Tabitha, has always been a master at tracking and killing any bugs that dare to enter our house. However, she tends to eat her prey. Hilarious to see her face as she eats one that’s still alive and moving all 6 or 8 legs around inside her mouth.
We have two perches attached to the front window. I have one void and one mostly-black tuxedo. All you'll see of them from outside the front window is two glowing eyes XD But if you say "HIIIII" they meow back, and then you get to see teefs and a pink tongue XD
They look absolutely everywhere EXCEPT the really interesting you want them to look at. Exasperating.
I swear some extraordinary social media pictures like this are either really lucky shots, or photoshopped.
My cat would always push food out of her food bowl, then eat it off the floor. We could never figure out why, she could eat out of the bowl normally if she felt like it, but I guess floor food just tasted better.
I’ve seen them chase—-and catch—-their own tails, then try to get up and take it away, only to have it just keep getting away from them.
I got a kick out of all the "other cats/my cat" ones. I have one of each type. I saved the images to send to my best friend. She's going to get such a laugh out of them.
