French Kiss, The Best Halloween Costume Idea Ever
Scary
The folks at Hubbub highlight that 4 in 10 Halloween costumes are thrown away after only being worn once, and many are made from plastic, so the cost of looking creepy is creeping up. To help folks create a more sustainable costume, they offer these DIY dress-up ideas that can save not only money and time but also help the planet:
1. Iconic costumes from everyday clothes. Real-life figures like the Spice Girls, David Attenborough, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, or fictional ones like Rosie the Riveter or Paddington Bear have looks that are instantly recognizable but can also be assembled from what's already in your wardrobe, so start by "cataloging" what you already have. Maybe your next Halloween costume is already laying in your wardrobe.
2. Are there any old outfits haunting the back of your cupboard from many moons ago? If single-use clothing and its associated packaging gives you the shivers, try to see if you can find an old costume and bring back the ghost of Halloween past.

3. Top of the props. If you don't like the costume you end up with because it looks a bit too flat, fashion it with freaky accessories from leftover cardboard or paper you already have. Swords, ears, hats, and wings can all be cut from cereal boxes and painted or covered with fabric, and there are lots of tutorials online that can teach you how.
4. Paint yourself scary. You can pick up non-toxic, cruelty-free body paint for quite cheap from most fancy-dress shops and transform into an orc or some other beast super fast.
Now go kill it!

But Of A Last-Minute Costume This Year- Jawa Without The Black Gloves
Ya know those glow in the dark stars and planets you get to stick on your ceiling? A bag of those glued all over black sweatpants and black top.... bang!! You're the center of the universe!! That was my favorite last minute costume and as a bonus it's super comfy!! Happy haunting!
Some of these people seem to have a different definition of "last minute" than I do. It's clear some of these took planning and time! Nice costumes though.
Thanks to the restrictions this year, I got to make the Halloween decorations into a gag that I've wanted to do for almost 25 years. In place of actual decorations are printouts of broken image links that have filenames describing Halloween decorations instead. The door has a "Halloween loading, please wait" notice on it , as well as a Windows dialogue box saying that Halloween has crashed.
My brother went as a 'cereal killer' one year. He dressed all in black and carried a box of cereal with a butter knife stuck in it.
when i was younger, gf and i broke up soon before Hallowe'en, ended up going to a party together, not dressed up, being nice to eachother. when people asked, we said we were pretending to be a couple as our costume. nobody liked it, plus we ended up getting back together for a while, so bad news all around.
I literally made my at my desk this morning before class this morning. Operation game board. Bought some scrubs and cut out the game pieces on self adhesive felt and stuck them on. Took about an hour and everyone loved it. Plus I now own comfy scrubs. Few years ago I went as Meg from family guy, blue jeans with pink T and beanie.
I wore a black sweater and safety pinned some plush bats to it and went as a bat cave.
I used to work where almost everyone dressed up for Halloween. Got asked what am I coming as? Don't intend to dress up. You have to! So, okay. Ratted my hair, put on makeup, heels, a skirt and fancy shirt and jacket. What? I'm a business manager. (I really was one but never dressed like that.) I was not pestered to dress up again.
I’ve been an alien in disguise - trench coat and alien antennae. This year a Disney world guest - Minnie ears, Mickey shirt, and a waist pack.
Blow up round purple balloons, pin ends to black tee and pants. Cut large grape leaves...Bobby pin to hair! My sister once wore a full slip and went as a Freudian slip.
