35 Of The Most Savage Twitter Reactions To Kim Kardashian Telling Women To Get Off Their Butts And Work
The internet has it out for Kim Kardashian after her recent controversial and inflammatory comment in an interview with Variety: “I have the best advice for women in business: Get your [effing] ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
The outrage was huge, dear Pandas. Some people were appalled by Kim’s comments, and found them delusional, condescending, insulting, and out of touch with reality. Meanwhile, others couldn’t believe that they were hearing advice from a woman who was born into riches. At the end of the day, women are working incredibly hard and they didn’t take too kindly to being looked down on by Kim. However, some folks share the opinion that Kim does in fact work hard, but that hard work doesn't always lead to success.
Scroll down to see how the internet reacted and share your own thoughts about Kim’s comment, as well as the Kardashians.
Entertainment, pop culture, and lifestyle expert Mike Sington, Hollywood's Ultimate Insider, was kind enough to share his thoughts about Kim's comment with Bored Panda.
"I thought Kim’s comments were way out of line. She came from a family of wealth and privilege, which gave her an advantage the vast majority of women don’t have. The Kardashian interview with Variety was fascinating, because it really got inside the business of being a Kardashian, and it didn’t seem like anything was being held back," he told us. Celebrity expert Mike, from Los Angeles, told Bored Panda that the Kardashian brand is all about creating drama. "All of it is amplified for the media to create more interest in the family, which feeds the machine. It’s a never-ending cycle," he explained that it's a self-sustaining process where the more attention the Kardashians get, well, the more attention they end up with in the future.
Mike revealed to us that he's "honestly stunned" that interest in the Kardashian family has lasted as long as it has. "I give them a lot of credit for maintaining that interest over so many years and parlaying it into a massively successful business," he said that credit has to be given where it's due.
Now THERE is a self-made, talent-blessed beauty.... Inside and out!
The state of Tennessee even has a license plate option with Dolly Parton on it.
That's my girl. Her look is admittedly based on a hooker in her hometown.
you sound like a fun person to be with at parties....
Load More Replies..."The audience definitely has a love/hate relationship with them. We love gawking over their wealthy and lavish lifestyles. But when we do, we see all the drama and seemingly how messed up they are, which makes us realize how good we actually have it."
Kim believes that she is being “factual” with her comments. “With all respect, and with love, I’m not, like, being a b****,” she told Variety.
Her response to the criticism that she and her family have gotten over the years that they’re ‘famous for being famous’ is, “Who gives a f***.”
“We focus on the positive. We work our asses off. If that’s what you think, then sorry. We just don’t have the energy for that. We don’t have to sing or dance or act; we get to live our lives—and hey, we made it. I don’t know what to tell you,” she said.
Criticism of Kim came from all corners of the net. From your average social media users and well-known figures to businesswomen and even some insiders who used to work for the Kardashians. The general consensus was that the comment was tone-deaf or very limited in scope.
Some folks pointed out that Kim was suggesting that the type of wealth and success that she has can be reached if only you work hard enough. And even if you’re at your limit—exhausted—you might not be working hard enough if you’re not successful yet. But that kind of thinking is very limited in scope. It completely ignores the impact that being born into a wealthy family has on someone’s ventures.

100% agree with the last part about watching their shitty TV shows
What’s more, it’s demotivating to hear that nobody supposedly wants to work if you’re barely managing to make ends meet, working multiple jobs, and taking care of your family. All in all, it’s the type of comment that will likely go down in internet history as proof that some celebrities are completely out of touch. Not just with their fans, but with real-life as a whole.
Kim's business plan "Mommy, I want to be famous". "But Kim, you have no talent" "Mommy, want to be famous now!!!" "Ok Kimme. Let Mommy make some calls"
Working hard is only one piece of the puzzle. Financial expert Sam Dogen, the founder of Financial Samurai, explained to Bored Panda a while back that the people who tend to brag about their work hours and how difficult they have it usually want to be validated in some shape or form.
“Working long after your colleagues are gone means nobody will see your hard work. Hence, you need to tell people about it because the results often take time to manifest. The irony is, if you have great results, there’s no need to tell anybody how hard you work,” Sam said.
This reminds me of when there was the GoFundMe to have Kylie reach a billion dollars. Lets ignore the fact that people actually contributed but what in the actual living f#@#@! Then they called her self-made.
The expert told us that the world is a very tough and competitive place. Working hard is required to get ahead, but it isn't enough by itself.
“In your 20s and 30s you need to work BOTH smarter AND harder, especially if you are of average intelligence. The world is a brutally competitive place with some of the smartest people also working the hardest. So working long hours while you’re still young and learning is a matter of practicality,” he shared his thoughts with Bored Panda.
“You can’t expect to go straight to the corner office without putting in your dues. At the same time, you can’t expect to outperform your peers simply through hard work. You have to be strategic by building a strong network of relationships internally and externally (clients) who will pull to get you promoted and help you get paid at your next job," Sam said.
I have more respect for a prostitute. At least they work FL their money
THIS! They have the time and resources to do what they like...regular everyday 7-4 jobs don't. We don't have the time, the energy or the money.
He added that taking time off is very important in order to fight back against feeling burned out. You have to be very strategic about resting up. “Take sick days and mentally recharge. Don’t just think being ill is just a physical thing. There are plenty of mental illnesses. They are just not as visible. There is no better time than right now to take sick days due to the pandemic and the greater awareness of mental health issues. There is simply not shame in healing the mind!” he said.
You know what makes me richer every day? Not watching their sh*t show. 👌
Just an FYI, internships that provide college credit do not need to be unpaid.
I'm in my lunch break at work reading this shite, I think it's time for a few cute animals
Imagine what she'd have done if she wasn't born to a rich family!
Load More Replies...I used to get upset over things like this, but then I realized it doesn't matter. That woman will never know what it's like to get up early, and work hard for 9-10 hours, go home, care for family and try to find time for herself. I don't need a vapid entitled woman to tell me how hard to work. I know how hard I work, and why I work so hard. And I do it all and still feel good about myself because I'm not degrading others or throwing them under the bus so I can succeed.
I am so sick of hearing this "let them eat cake" nonsense. Yes, the reason that I, a disabled single mom with a special-needs kid, am not a billionaire is because I don't work hard enough. That's it. She solved it. This makes me so freaking angry.
Dear Kim Kardashian people today don't want advice from a walking plastic Thank you
My usual advice to such people will be shared here. Trump, "Ye", KimK, et al.: Get a tube of lube, stand in front of a mirror and go f*ck yourself, you malignant narcissistic tw*t.
KK should be ashamed of herself. How dare she demean those who work harder in one hour than she works in a month? She has no idea what she's talking about.
Hard to ignore when they're technically being forced down our throats (ie they kept popping up in my feed even if I kept hiding posts about them).
Load More Replies...Only time she gets off her a**e is when she's taking pictures of it.
I haven't seen anybody blow through recently earned good will this badly since the U.S. invaded Iraq. God damn.
Don’t feed the attention seeking trolls. Avert your eyes and walk away slowly
Listen guys, she has no clue what she is talking about. Don't give her a platform to degrade others to make herself feel better about herself. When people do things like this, it just tells you how they are in the inside. Look at her family...it's nothing but chaos. Her life is nothing but chaos. So, I am happy with my work ethic, history and how I am accomplished in my career. I know she is talking to people that don't work, but she has no clue the reasons why people may not work or may not be able to work. Just don't. Don't.
In the end, I am a much happier person than Kim Kardashian will ever be. For starters, my spouse isn't making videos about decapitating Pete Davidson.
I'd rally us to throw her in the ocean, but if we did, i'm pretty sure all the plastic in her would just make her slap onto the surface and then drift off to some garbage patch.
“Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well- warmed, and well-fed.” ― Herman Melville
Don't forget she didn't even carry her own children. Had someone else do that because she didn't want to get fat.
Meanwhile she cuts corners and took the easy route to try to get a law degree. LOL
Wait, from a woman who became famous for a sex video then parlayed that into other opportunities to sell her body?
Aren't they know for having unpaid interns and treating them like dog s**t?
With this cancelation thing going on in our days , I wounder why this lady was not canceled yet.? #Cancelkimkardashian
Hey Kim! Great advice! I think you should apply that to your marriage. Nobody wants to work on marriage anymore. So get off your ass & go to work! Kanye's mentally ill? Just tell him to pull himself by his bootstraps and get up off his ass and go to work on that too! Great advice! Kindly, take your own advice darling.
Didn’t all of them except the oldest drop out of college or just not go?
Why hasnt cancel culture hit this family? Cancel culture annoys me but I can get behind it with these people. Sadly people will continue to watch their stupid shows and fawn all over them for some weird reason. but you couldnt pay me enough to watch or buy anything related to any of them. I hope all of the working women out there stop helping this family get richer while she thinks its okay to talk down to them.
So I read a couple of the comments. Apparently she was born rich and thus had no say to what she said? Do I need to know who that is?
No. She and her entire family are completely irrelevant. For true celebrity, talent, hard work, we have Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Kelly Clarkson, Brittney Spears, Christine Aguilera, P!nk, etc.
Load More Replies...I swear I can't deal with this bs in my life anymore. I wish they'd all just go away so I never have to even read their names anymore. Toxic
Fact is, for people who have grown up with her privilege, it's hard for her to understand what "work" is. I imagine being KK, she is "busy" all the time, that is, she is doing SOMETHING. What I think she fails to understand is that while she is doing something, very little of that is work. That is conducted by a number of nameless, faceless minions, and I doubt she has any awareness of it.
B!tch the only ass you got up, was yours on Ray J in that tape. I hope you thanked him for literally being the reason you're famous. Gtfoh with that entitled bs...
Something only Kim will understand: I own a copy of A.Bourdain's ''The Nasty Bits''. Enjoy!
while it might be tone deaf as hell, people in general have gotten really picky about jobs
Imagine what she'd have done if she wasn't born to a rich family!
