Jogger’s Fight With Sex Attacker Gets Recorded On Fitness Tracker; Attacker’s Face Looks Worse Than Victim’s
Seattle jogger Kelly Herron was having an ordinary run through Golden Gardens Park last week when she was attacked in a public washroom, a nightmare that most only ever imagine. After a terrifying struggle, she fended off the attacker, and the GPS trail her fitness tracker recorded shows the true extent of her ordeal.
The assailant, a registered sex offender, was hit by an unexpected turn of events when Kelly overpowered him and even managed to lock him inside a stall until police arrived. “Not today, motherf***er,” she screamed at him, according to ABC News. Kelly had taken a self-defense class only a few weeks before the incident, and “utilized all of it.”
Kelly described the experience in a harrowing Instagram post, in which she also shared the movements her fitness tracker traced using GPS during the fight. “My face is stitched, my body is bruised, but my spirit is intact,” she wrote in the same post. This creep picked the wrong jogger to mess with, and we’re glad to see that Kelly walked away more alive than ever.

#dontbeavictim ?? I'm glad she beat the s**t out of him, but I also feel like "don't be a victim" moves the blame away from the perpetrator and over to the victim. Self defense is important, but if you cannot defend yourself, that doesn't mean that you choose to be a victim.

I often see women running sometimes not always in the best areas, and I just always hope they get to their destination safe. I wonder how many men, take off for a good run, and fear for their safety.

Not sure where you are but lots of police stations or colleges do free self defense classes. My studio does a free womans class every Friday. I wish more studios did that!

I"m physically disabled, and would bring my dog into any public washroom. He was a big bodyguard of a dog, I always felt safer with him waiting outside the stall. Since he passed away, I carry a can of Wasp Spray.

She was amazing! Can we please stop arguing about what object someone should use to defend themselves from would-be attackers? If you choose to defend yourself with a weapon, make sure you are confident and know how to use it. That goes without question. Kelly took a self-defense class which she said really helped her. I think all women should consider taking some type of self-defense training. Men for that matter as well. You don't have to be armed to be dangerous.

Kelly, Good way to fight back! I am sadden there are still men like that and not a good man around when things like this happen. Never stop fighting back, fight for your life because at the end it is all worth it. Food for thought... Concealed weapons permit, sad to say but it is getting to the point where you need a weapon to protect yourself when running or simply going out.

Thank God! I think if there was a code to use in public restrooms at parks that would be only available while giving personal Information (like drivers lincence number)first to parks department website it would keep perverts from accessing these restrooms.
