Back in February, the founder, CEO, and president of Amazon announced that he’s launching the Bezos Earth Fund and pledging to donate $10 billion to various organizations fighting climate change. “Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet,” he wrote in his Instagram post announcing the launch. “This global initiative will fund scientists, activists, NGOs—any effort that offers a real possibility to help preserve and protect the natural world.”

This Monday, Bezos announced 16 organizations that will be receiving the first $791 million from the fund.

“I’ve spent the past several months learning from a group of incredibly smart people who’ve made it their life’s work to fight climate change and its impact on communities around the world. I’m inspired by what they’re doing, and excited to help them scale,” Bezos wrote in his Instagram post announcing the first donations.

We can all protect Earth’s future by taking bold action now,” reads Bezos’ post.

In the top 5 of world largest greenhouse offender is cargo shipping. This man owns Amazon right, largest commercial shipper in and to the world right? How much do you think he's contributing to pollution???? The list of his contribution to greenhouse emissions and waste is endless, AND so is our "need" to have everything he sells.

The biggest contributor to every problem on Earth (overconsumption, pollution, environmental issues) is human overpopulation. Seriously people, read the novel (a fictional thriller) called 10:59 by N Baker - it will open your eyes and could honestly help change the world for the better.
