Japonism & Zen

For my series JAPONISM & ZEN, A work that expresses “The world is a little blurry”.

The subject is Karesansui (Zen Garden), which symbolizes the spirituality of the Japanese people. It is expressed like a ink painting in two colors, black and white.

Taken with a 1998 (10,000 pixel, monochrome) Game Boy camera.

Modern cameras can take beautiful pictures with tens of millions of pixels, but in reality, we are deluded by invisible phenomena.

Rumors of others, fake news, virus.

It expresses “The World is a Little Blurry”.

As the times progress, the convenience of life increases, but at the same time, invisible phenomena (social atmosphere) overflow.

The past was inconvenient, but the world was clear, and the modern age, where convenience has advanced but is deceived by invisible phenomena.

MindFulness

ATOM is a Japanese photographer born in 1980. He traveled to 64 countries over 6 years and encountered many cultures and many people. The experience gained from the trip raised many questions for himself. What does it mean to life, coexistence with nature, happiness and purpose of living for? And the fundamental question is, "Why am I born in Japan in this age?"By leaving Japan, he reconsidered his homeland and pondered about living as a Japanese and a modern people. Conscious of his identity as a Japanese, he uses the motifs of symbols that symbolize Japan, takes a photo of the present age, and prints it on the most precious handmade Japanese paper in Japan. He will continue to travel and explore and express the meaning of living as a Japanese in the present age.FOLLOW ME: https://www.instagram.com/photographer_atom/ https://www.facebook.com/Photographer.atom/

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies. I also love traveling, concerts, and cats (heavy on that, because I am a cat mom).
