Japonism & Minimalism – Kimono

This work is a work that raises the issues of modern society and lets viewers imagine the future.

A photo that makes you think about what you really need in a modern, information-filled world.

Like the world in this photo, what do you choose if there is only one?

The difference in the size of KIMONO symbolizes the declining birthrate in each era.

Declining birthrate is a common problem among developed countries.

I represent the declining birthrate in Japan using KIMONO as an example, but you should try replacing “red kimono” with the distance to a loved one, a healthy body or a cross (religion).

The last one shows the future you imagine.

please imagine.

How does the future look to you?

The paper used for printing uses Japanese paper “WASHI” made by Iwano Ichibei designated as a national treasure.
