I Captured The Beauty Of Japan, Just Like I Always Dreamed Of Doing (35 Pics)
I've wanted to go to Japan ever since I was a child. Its culture, nature, and architecture - I always thought those were absolutely beautiful.
Last month, I was finally able to fulfill my childhood dream and let myself get consumed by this marvelous country. I must admit when I stepped out of the Tokyo train station I could not stop myself from tearing up because the desire that I have been holding for the past 20 years was finally within my grasp.

I would love to see the original photos next to the finished ones. Some are too heavily worked over for my taste, or maybe they are indeed not photos at all? A private joke?
Japan has some of the most superb natural beauty I've ever seen. The cities and towns are great, but I'm much more interested in the natural side.
Love the photoshop effects in these photos. I live in Japan and I know what the originals look like - much less photogenic.
oh god i wish i could be there. in the midst of the traffic and the people and the sense of both belonging but at the same time feeling so unimportant. you know, that city feeling. but whenever i look at japan and tokyo i feel that even more
Your pictures are absolutely breathtaking! Its as though I was there at that moment, experiencing the life of the place
Sadly i was struck by how clean the streets and alleyways are. But again we have our own poop on the street app here in the SF area.
You know how there's a joke that Mexico is the world with a yellow filter? Well if these and so many other photos of Japanese nature etc are anything to go by, the same can be said for japan, only with a red filter.... trust me. It doesn't look this saturated in real life, but it's much more beautiful for it anyway. Still, I enjoyed these photo's, I miss Japan a lot, the past 2 years I've been supposed to fly over there again, but nope. Rona isn't going to let me anytime soon it seems. :/
It's strange, but it does kind of look like this. I haven't figured out why, or how; maybe it's the quality of the air, the cleanliness, the humidity in the air, all combined. Or maybe you get there and you see everything different. No idea. But if you know Makoto Shinkai, and you've been to Japan, you know that train rides are kind of like his movies, and the air is like that, and the colours are indeed like that. It's a strange land inhabited by strange gods.
Why are (almost?) all these heavily filtered photos at night? What was this guy doing during the day? Where's the nature? Also imo The titles are pretty cringe and smack a little of gaijin Japan fetishisation - a guy who has a very limited and cliche idea of what the country is like and is unable to see beyond that.
I would like to understand how can one synthesize the regular photos to look like that. What software, saturation, contrast settings are at play here to make these otherwise regular pictures look so dramatically flourescent ?
