Changing one’s perspective has to do with the point of view in which you stand. By stepping outside of our usual perspectives, it can become possible to frame arguments in ways that motivate others instead of leaving them feeling rejected, for example. In a similar way, you can start seeing things not as simply black or white, good or bad, but in a more complex light. This will get us out of the loop of negativity, prejudice and other negative emotions.

Genetics are awesome, me, my mother, my grandmother and my great grandmother (who I have only seen in pictures) are very alike. :)

Genetics are super cool in that sense. Me and my mum were identical as children and also very similar to her grandma but not to her dad. In my fathers family is the same. He is almost identical to his grandfather he was young but never looked like his father. Also if you see me/my father or my sister/mum you would never guess that we are family

It's funny, I always sort of looked like my father but it wasn't until I was about 35 people realized I looked nearly identical to my grandfather.

That whole "genes skip a generation" maxim becomes truer to me w/ each new anecdotal incident. Pretty frequently, people have more in common w/ their grandparents than their parents, I've noticed. If parents are liberal, kids might be staunch conservatives, then THEIR kids will be inclined to be liberal. Artistic people are often more like their grands. Probably the same goes for those into STEM subjects, and so on. Obviously, looks as well.

How many calories would you need to eat to lose that much weight in only 2y? Anybody knows? I have been eating 1400kcal a day on average for the last five months and I lost three kgs... :( I am aiming for 1200 now but its difficult to be able to cook nice meals at the same time.

One reason more to see why "race" is a ridiculous concept. I bet that a lot of people wouldnt say that the person in the right is "white" when they see both together. Same if you see me (extremely pale and more "north european" looking) and my sister (very tan and more "mediterranean" looking)
