Magazines for females are just garbage ,for ages 11-24 it's all "makeup, clothing, sex and hair care" then for ages 25-35 it's all "lose weight, makeup , sex and mommy tips" then for ages 35 and up it's "sex, lose weight,makeup" even cooking magazines are not immune from this c**p. It's a shame really.

Brandon you are wrong. It IS in fact telling girls that they can only be perfect while telling boys they can have the freedom to be what they want to be. It’s plain and simple misogyny (with sexism against boys too, since not all boys like so called masculine stereotypes like guns). And people buy these magazines because we are unfortunately brainwashed to believe this c**p. Why not have magazines for girls that want to be intelligent and individuals too?

has it occurred to people that a lot of girls, in fact, want to have nice hair? And want to know tips and trends to make it look good? And like wearing makeup too? take it from someone who has a first year hairdressing qualification! As for "explore your future" on the boys magazine- there's nothing wrong with putting that in a boys magazine! there are lots of girls magazines with that stuff in it too, especially in today's world. this is only two magazines being compared.

Amberly- I think you are missing the point. They are literally named 'boys life' and 'girls life' You can buy hair and makeup magazines, that is not the issue. You can buy gaming magazines, movie magazines, music etc... so if you have a specific interest, it is usually catered for. This is literally gender specific. It is literally telling girls that they should only be concerned with what they look like but telling boys that they can be anything they want. It is right there on the freakin covers.

Cosmo etc are made by women and sold to women, yet "The Patriarchy!" gets the blame. Hey ladies: if you stop making the stuff for yourselves and stop buying it yourselves, it'll stop. It's not a goddamn conspiracy and for damn sure you can't blame men. If the magazines would be more popular with photos of wicker baskets falling from airplanes, then that's what they'd show.
