Bread and butter would taste a far sight better than some wedding cakes I've had, and besides...who doesn't love butter?

I would legit prefer the bread and butter and their happiness. Hell, I would take no food and just a celebration of their happiness with friends.

Is this an instance of forced perspective, or are those some giant bread slices?

Hey! I LOVE bread and butter.

This is exactly what a wedding should be, not these ridiculous extravagant affairs that put you in debt instead of using those funds for a down payment on a house. Since 40-50% of US marriages end in divorce, think of it as an investment. An over budget wedding is a very stupid investment with those odds.

That is a reasonable idea but a home made cake would be more celebratory and pretty inexpensive.

Bread and salt. That's all you need. My wife and I had a wedding we could afford--we did have a wedding cake, from Safeway. (For non-Americans, Safeway is a grocery chain. Not fancy, but a good cake!)

dude a good piece of bread with real butter is so good! plus a wedding is just one day out of your life, and you are so busy during it you hardly remember much of it down the line and trust me no one else cares after its over so there is no reason to go into debt over it.
