Equity is what the German health insurance system tries to achieve: Everybody pays the same % of their wages (14,7 if I am not mistaken) into the insurances, but everybody receives the treatment they need, independent from how much you put in. The system is not flawless, of course, because of many reasons. One of them is that higher wages can opt out (they may not return if the wages drop!) and lower wages are more impacted by a percentage than higher. The Dutch try a different approach, everybody pays the same for basic cover (no opt out).
Research has shown that humans naturally process information with visual input. It’s why it is easier for us to read instructions with photos and graphics than in text blocks.
According to the National Library of Medicine (NLM), articles with a visual abstract are three times more likely to draw views.

Experts in the digital industry consider infographics as effective marketing tools. SEO and keyword research platform Semrush defines them as a “compelling blend of visual data and minimalistic text.”
In digital marketing, infographics tell stories. The goal is to turn “complicated” information into something visually appealing and easily understood.

Aluminium will not go away, since it's an inert metal (its affinity towards oxygen just creates protective layer, but otherwise it's the same thing). Good stuff with aluminium is that it's fully recyclable and reusable. But since it's cheap, we don't bother recycling it as much as we should...

Many of the Cool Guides on this list contain data and scientific information. As NLM points out, you can deliver them to a broad audience by creating visuals catering to non-specialists.
This means avoiding too much technical jargon. But if you must include such details, make sure to provide context.

Getting to that sweet spot of images, charts, and texts is key to an infographic’s aesthetic appeal. There must be a balance between data visualizations, words, and pictures.
Experts advise limiting small texts to titles that stand out. Annotations should be concise, and bullet points should be used to enumerate items.

If you have a smart tv, SmartTube is godsent. It is an app for YouTube on smart tvs that can do many things mentioned here and more. Edit to add that for Android users, you can check out NewPipe. It's YouTube app, but better.
I just looked up newpipe but didnt see it in appstore. Is there somewhere else i should be looking for it? I have been dying for a different app other than youtube bc they are just insane with the ads and i refuse to give my money to a company that is just trying to annoy me to death to get my hard earnings. No way
Load More Replies...I hate the shorts. So very very much. I'm genuinely asking, if you like them, why, and why go to YouTube instead of other short form content places like tictoc or something? Not a dig, just curious.
I like them for recipes or fun skits. I can watch them on YouTube without the need to download another app
Load More Replies...YouTube ads have gotten out of control lately. We’ve been getting 1-2 minute unskippable ads, multiple times per video.
The chart says that ReturnDislikes is self-explanatory. I disagree. Would someone please explain it to me, preferably using short words?
Okay, I THINK (so someone may correct this) that it is because YouTube removed the ability to see the dislike stats... Return YouTube Dislike restores the ability to see dislikes. Better sense of how good something is when you can see number of likes AND dislikes. If anyone has a better explanation please go for it!! Or if I'm wrong, my apologies!! 😃
Load More Replies...Okay, apart from the ad-block, I might check out volume-scroll because that slide-bar is really annoying. As for sponsor-block: Well, the content-creators have to get their money SOMEHOW. And since pretty much everyone uses an adblock, the sponsor-blocks inside the video give them money to continue giving us some content. I am fine with that - I can just use the L- button to skip forward a few seconds and do so until sponsoring is gone.
I use NewPipe on my phone for music. No ads, and it will keep playing even when the screen is turned off.
I just tried to find it on the appstore but i didnt see it. Is there somewhere else i can find it? :) thanks and hope u have great day
Load More Replies...Also useful is any add-on that provides playback speed control. Yes, YouTube does provide a speed control, but it doesn't work on shorts, and it takes some fiddling to use, and doesn't provide as much control (for instance, in one extreme case I was toggling between 1.5x and 2.2x in a conversation between a man with a thick Scottish accent I couldn't understand above 1.5x and another man that I could understand better.)
YouTube stopped letting me use my adblock :-( does anyone have an adblock that still works?
Firefox + uBlock Origin. I had a couple moments where Youtube got ahead of the blocking, but uBlock stayed right on top of it.

A Cool Guide To The Number Of Animals Slaughtered Per Day On A Global Scale
Is there a chart of how much meat per animal is tossed every day? Separate for "could not be sold" and "customer didn't eat it and forgot to use the freezer". Killing animals for food is not always and in general bad, but if you kill it, you have to eat it. Otherwise it is not only an economical stupid thing to do, but foremost a crime against animals and abusing nature.
