Interactive Installation To Help Deaf People Feel The Music

What is music like when you can’t hear it? Colombian interactive artist, Daniel Escobar Vásquez, created an interactive installation called Marimba Inclusiva that helps deaf people feel the music. In this case, a marimba de chonta, a traditional instrument from Colombia’s Pacific coast, acts as an interface, which allows deaf people to experience sound through vibrations. Thanks to a combination of sensors and colorful educative video mapping projections, any deaf person can feel the rhythm and learn to play the instrument.
