If a pic of your crush, class friend, or one of the influencer divas looks too good to be true… you do the math. Because if there’s anything we know about pic-perfect shots on social media by now, it’s that a huge number of them are totally fake.
And as long as there are serial Photoshop offenders out there, the Instagram Reality subreddit will continue exposing their malicious deeds. Trust me, people out there are never running short of inspiration to face-tunefy and beautify their looks.
Below is the fresh batch of IG absurdity that must be seen to be believed. More eye-rub inducing snaps from Instagram vs. Reality can be found here, here, and here.

Spines Are Out Of Fashion. Pass It On
I tried to think of a pun, but it would've been spineless. Thank you, I'm here all week.
Previously, Bored Panda reached out to the redditor Cluelessnumber7, who’s the moderator of the r/InstagramReality community. The moderator explained the adverse effects all the heavily edited images have on people.
First, it sets unrealistic expectations that influencers purport to their easily impressionable audiences. “The amazingly smooth skin, suddenly common almond-shaped eyes, pouty lips, sharp jawlines, slim hourglass shapes, and so on," they commented.
Meanwhile, the viewers have no idea how long it took to pick the outfit, hunt down the perfect lighting, and many other little details that come before face-tuning every picture-perfect Insta look. Without discussing the use of editing apps such as Photoshop and Facetune, “there is now a countless amount of people comparing themselves to (and perhaps spending money to look like) a person who doesn’t exist," Cluelessnumber7 told us.

The second problem that hasn’t been addressed enough is the insecurities of the influencers who feel an urge to edit their pictures. “They’ve been editing their photos for so long it could mean losing the validation from their followers, losing followers, and maybe losing sponsors if they came clean.”
As huge crowds of followers become familiar with your fictional, yet perfect look, it may be impossible to speak out about all the editing that goes into creating their brand. “So, they would rather enjoy the false fame than risk losing it over integrity," the moderator concluded.

Instagram vs. Reality Queen
She is like Kloe Kardashian of Serbia. We all know how she really looks like but she is still using tone of facetunes and filters. Why people do that? Accept how you look like, it's fine.
I Just Don't Understand
It's not entirely their fault. They're getting all those likes that they assume they're doing something right. It's a vicious circle that goes round and round. I wish people would understand that it's our personalities and our character that make us better people not our looks.
I want to know who woke up one day and decided super sharp chin and humongous eyes are attractive?
You guys spend ALOT of time fixating on IG accounts...seems kind of trivial in the Grand Scheme of things. Are you out of material to heckle or???
If "curvy" is supposedly so beautiful nowadays, how come none of these people made themselves appear to be fatter?
Pretty sure that's Stella Vaudran and that's really how her body is shaped. She's always been thin.
That is sad that they want to look like a completely different person.
Why some people want to look like Sims or Barbie dolls? How is that even a trend?
