Kitten Hit By A Car Enjoys His Recovery As A Tiny Purrito

An itty bitty ginger kitty was lying lifeless on the side of the road when a kind-hearted person noticed him. The Good Samaritan reached out to Caring Fields Felines, a sanctuary and rescue organization in Palm City, Florida straight away.

“I just couldn’t say no,” the rescue’s executive director Pauline Glover told The Dodo. Glover drove the kitten to Savanna Animal Hospital in Jensen Beach. The poor thing was in a such a bad shape, he had to be X-rayed immediately. He had a broken cervical vertebra. “He needed to be placed into a body cast immediately,” Glover said. “Obviously, for us, putting him down was just not an option.” Six weeks have passed, and the kitten named Davey is getting much better. He’s under constant care at the vet’s office and a vet technician takes Davey home every night so he’d never be alone. The cutie pie will be in a body cast for another 3-4 weeks and then he will start physical therapy. Until then, he’s the cutest tiny purrito who has also stolen the heart of the vet technician’s dog Oakley. “Oakley adores his foster brother Davey,” Caring Fields Felines wrote on Facebook. “He rushes to Davey’s side every time he cries.” Once Davey is healthy again, he’ll be up for adoption.
