We have seen all kinds of images here on the internet. From blessed to cursed, there seems to exist a genre for each picture that’s hard to pin down.
Today, we present you with a new category to define hardly definable pictures named “blursed.” As you may suspect, the term comes from blessed and cursed combined together, meaning blursed pics exhibit features of them both.
This corner of Reddit titled “Blursed Images,” which describes itself as “home of the most blursed images on the internet,” has popularized blursed pics. So the idea, according to the community rules, is simple: “if an image makes you happy, but then at the same time, frustrates or disgusts you, then it is likely blursed.”
Below we wrapped up the most interesting examples of blursed snaps for you to scroll through!

Duly noted, except I have certain people who I want standing closest to the fire, so they get the “full benefit” of each pop. They won’t have any choice in taking a piece of me with them when they leave. Literally.
Load More Replies...I've also thought about what music should be played at my funeral. Staying Alive, then I Will Survive, then Another One Bites The Dust, followed by a recording of me knocking and delivering my own eulogy, finished off with a half-hour performance of ragtime music.
Now THAT is a plan!!! W/D!! totally stealing the idea w/minor changes. lol
Load More Replies...Nope, sorry. Hate to be the downer here, but first off, the kernels you swallowed would be sitting in your digestive liquid/acid, and by the time you get cremated (which can be days after your initial death) those kernels will be well on the way to liquified. And even if you asked popcorn to be placed in your casket/pockets of the clothing you are to be cremated in, the insane heat of the furnace (up to 1300+ Celcius) would just disintegrate it before it could pop anyway.
Not a downer, it is just simply the truth! It would be cool though if it could happen. Can you imagine the embalmer hearing the popping sound? lol
Load More Replies...I asked an actual mortician about this. Sadly, the body becomes so hot so quickly that the kernels would just scorch.
I liked the opening paragraph in Iain Banks The Crow Road. A cremation was involved
Or i could put in my last testament and will that I want to be filled with popcorn kernels (or fireworks!!!!) Before they cremate me. They can just do the thing where they built a platform for me and then put me up there before they set it all on fire. Would be super spectacular! Fireworks and popcorn. 😁
There's a children's song I learned in girl scouts. Plant a watermelon vine on the top of my grave, and let the juice (add disgusting slurp here) run through. My mom got a kick out of it, and requested a watermelon vine. Since then, she's decided on a recording, so that during the wake, whenever someone says something nice, Dad can play the recording of Mom, saying, "Why didn't you tell me that when I was alive?"
I just want my ashes to be used as fertilizer in a family member's garden, but they all think that is creepy 🙁
Apparently there is a wood that crackles and pops when burned. And apparently one Potus once said: " When I die, bury me in a casket of that wood. I want to go hell with a show."
According to Know Your Meme, blursed images are photographs that are simultaneously blessed and cursed. They are captivating and may require a double glance in order to fully grasp what is going on there.
Interestingly, blursed images reflect the bigger tendency of the human mind to be compelled by challenging material. This material can range from merely uncomfortable and confusing to dark and upsetting. Psychoanalysts have been observing our inner fascination with dark material, from serial killers to violence to disasters, for years.
In Bored Panda’s previous in-depth interview with Helen Marlo, a licensed clinical psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst who provides psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and consultation, we dug deeper into this compelling topic.
“Most of us are painfully aware that darkness, what some call evil, exists. We may satisfy some human, psychological needs when we engage with it through the news, movies, or documentaries,” Helen told us.
She explained that when watching another story, and in particular, these dark and traumatic stories, we witness another person’s narrative. “Narrating one’s own story, especially if we have a story that includes trauma, is emotional and hard. Watching another’s story can give us a sense of gaining understanding or relief for 'free,' because we are hearing about another’s story but not doing any of the hard, psychological work to create our own story.” The same goes for reading self-help books and images.
Sinbad: "My dad just showed me the whole kingdom. And I'm gonna rule it all!"
Moreover, Helen explained that “by watching another’s story, we may gain a sense of control, understanding, or vicarious mastery over our own aggressive fantasies and anxieties about evil, whether we imagine ourselves in the role of the perpetrator and/or victim.”
For example, watching the Jeffrey Dahmer story gives us at least one version of a real-life story of a serial killer. “We may feel as if we have a better understanding of senseless violence and the irrationalities of evil by becoming immersed in learning about one person’s story. His story is a mixture of elements—some common and some uncommon—which enables us to compare and contrast this story with our own life story and our own fears, wishes, and/or fantasies.”
Please, please, please for your life wear a seatbelt. In the last week alone we’ve had two very young (19-20 yrs) guys come into our ER who were ejected with severe head trauma. One is probably brain dead and the other was at least able to be an organ donor.
It doesn't mean, however, that blursed images offer exactly this type of experience. While being uncomfortable and sometimes upsetting, they also offer the opposite effect - which is interesting, cute, and relatable. These two opposite poles combined together provide the viewer with a unique viewing experience that challenges our perception of things being only good or bad, black or white.
The girl on the left could still save the pizza! It's still on the paper!
People with more anxiety have it filled more and so even reclining is hazardous. We should write a research paper
This cat would be great in winter, though it'd probably give me a heatstroke in summer.
The guy with his team mates genitals and a.n.u.s on his shoulders must have drawn the short straw…
