Things posted on the internet cannot be unposted. That’s part of the game. But there are surely things we have posted that we’re not necessarily very proud of. Some, however, have no clue about their clueless arguments and remain unapologetic.
And there’s this corner of Reddit known as “S***AmericansSay” which is notorious for busting these kinds of instances. In fact, the community of 353k members is sharing the most cringeworthy and clueless posts spotted surfing on social media. That includes but isn’t limited to blunt arguments, embarrassing comments, hilariously inaccurate shares, you name it.
Below we selected some of the most entertaining examples that will surely make you chuckle and wonder what those people are thinking. Psst! Here's part 1 of the post with more stuff Americans (and the rest of the world, for that matter, ‘cause no one is immune to cluelessness) say!

The use of social media has increased throughout the world, including emerging and developing nations in recent years. And, across the 11 emerging economies surveyed for this Pew Research study, 28% of adults say social media is very important for helping them keep up with political news and other developments occurring in the world.
Simultaneously, the spread of misinformation has reached new heights. With the pandemic ransacking the globe, it has become vital to separate facts from fiction and stop the harm from false statements. Today, the question of what we hold as a true and trusted piece of information and not is key, but the boundaries between the two are becoming increasingly blurred. So what happened?

According to Kevin Kelli, the co-founder of Wired magazine, “Truth is no longer dictated by authorities, but is networked by peers. For every fact there is a counterfact and all these counterfacts and facts look identical online, which is confusing to most people.” When you think of it, most online content is created, shared and altered by people online. Add the lack of attention to whether the information is accurate, and you have a toxic cocktail for reproducing countless inaccurate and false content.

Meanwhile, this new study published in Nature that involves an experiment conducted by a group of researchers from MIT, the University of Regina in Canada, University of Exeter Business School in the United Kingdom and Center for Research and Teaching in Economics in Mexico, showed some interesting findings about the way people perceive what’s inaccurate online.
“It seems that the social media context may distract people from accuracy,” study coauthor Gordon Pennycook, an assistant professor of behavioral science at the University of Regina, told The Journalist’s Resource. According to him, although people are often capable of distinguishing between true and false news content, they fail to even consider whether content is accurate before they share it on social media.

According to Pennycook, “The downstream effect of improving the quality of news sharing increases with the influence of the user who is making better choices.” He added: “It may be that the effect is as effective (if not more so) for users with more followers because the importance of ‘I better make sure this is true’ is literally greater for those with more followers.”

Aaand Rome, Ga, was named after Rome, Italy by Italians who emigrated from Italy?!?
Load More Replies...Yes and those were the Romans that captured and tried American Jesus, that makes sense now.
I cannot believe that anyone over the age of about 7 needs telling that ...
but then half the places in ontario alone would be nameless!
Load More Replies...There are a lot of towns and cities in the USA named after euopean cities
this is why they get confused about other countries, I am telling you.
Load More Replies...Oh yeah, when Colombus came to the US, he had to defeat the Roman army as well.
Half of American cities are named after European cities and the other half are named after the guy who opened a general store beside a creek.
these are the people who don't know the difference between Georgia (the US state) and Georgia (the country)
No, you are wrong. Those people probably don't even know Georgia (country) exists!
Load More Replies...I remember seeing something during Daddy Bush's invasion of Iraq, that most Americans cannot find Iraq on a map. I thought, okay, i know where Iraq is, but I don't have any idea how to find Nebraska. And I'm not entirely sure if Minnesota is a state or a city. I suspect the former, but I honestly am not certain.
Wow, Rome (Italy) was already older than 2000 years before the first city was founded in the territory called "USA" today.
Rome, in Italy was founded 2,777 years ago.. How old is the one in Georgia?
What school did you skip?I knew that before I eve started school , by the way. It's called reading something besides comic books!

Oh sweet mother of freakin' pearl. I'm embarrassed for all Americans. Geebus.
Yep. And there is a Versailles in France. A Frankfurt in Germany. And England even has a not-so-new York.
There are 13 cities in the US named "Rome": Rome, New York Rome, Georgia Rome, Illinois Rome, Indiana Rome, Iowa Rome, Kentucky Rome, Maine Rome, Mississippi Rome, Missouri Rome, Ohio Rome, Oregon Rome, Pennsylvania (Not too far from Milan, PA) Rome, Tennessee
How do I say I rely on Fox News for all my information without saying I rely on Fox News for all my information?
Wait until you find out there's a city called Paris on every continent
As an American- where the hell is Rome, Georgia? and I'm seriously wondering if this is trolling
Your mind will blown when you will discover that there is even a country called Georgia.

I couldn't make it through all of these - it was too painful. Man, I really feel for the cool, intelligent Americans who have to share their country with these dopes.
I’m probably going to get downvoted for this but: The idiots are not the majority. I actually enjoy living in America.
Same here. The people that read these and say " are Americans ok?" are in fact dim witted, because the don't understand how these articles are created. If BP so decided, they could make hundreds of articles about how awesome the US is. What you're seeing here is called selective bias.
Load More Replies...oh come on BP, you'd almost beaten your 1-week streak of not posting any of these articles!
They have been doing less, I was surprised to see this article drop
Load More Replies...I really dislike when BP posts these articles. Because, yeah, some (a lot of) Americans are stupid! But not all of them. In my opinion, it just turns into a cesspool of making fun of people and.. never mind, that probably makes no sense. Sorry! Ignore me.
It does sting when we all look stupid because of a bunch of idiots that only use TikTok and not college
Load More Replies...These posts were really funny, but it makes me feel sorry for all the Americans that actually have brains
there are a lot of us who do. these posts are taken from a small but loud minority.
Load More Replies...Yes, some Americans are incredibly stupid. I'd like to point out, however, that the "Freedom Convoys" started in *Canada*, the UK voted for Brexit, and Russia is trying to rewrite history as a pretext for grabbing Ukraine. Stupid isn't restricted to any nation. It's a failing of the species, like greed, and cruelty, and a desire to feel smugly superior to others by encouraging stereotypes. Dehumanizing Americans is not any better than dehumanizing .... anyone else. And that is, ultimately, the goal of such things. To make it easy to not care about the targeted group. Consider that, please. I'm not some butthurt American. I'm just disgusted by yet another round of same-old same-old. Honestly, this stuff is like listening to my in-laws talk about how all Poles are (fill in unpleasant blank) ... Yeah, yeah, we get it.

Load More Replies...Clueless people exist in every country. I wish BP would stop with the constant America-bashing.
Clueless people are probably equally represented everywhere. But if you have a flawed education system that fails to teach about the outside world... and a culture full of propaganda that "we are the best country, we invented freedom, USA! USA!"... well add that on top of the standard pool of clueless people, and it gets worse.

Oh, lots of countries suck more. Just not many "first world" countries.
Load More Replies...It's funny how Europeans ignore Russia and other eastern European countries when they compare Europe to America. Sorry folks, but western Europe isn't the entirety of Europe! Also, if you're going to point your finger at Trump and American stupidity, then I'm going to point my finger at Brexit, Boris Johnson, Silvio Berlusconi, Marine Le Pen, Russia, Poland, etc.
Except for what is Russia doing in Ukraine what is so terrible about other parts of Europe? Do you think ppl in Hungary, Serbia,Greece, Latvia, Czechia, Slovakia and so on are all just ignorants? Do you think we dont have electricity here? ( because I was asked this question before and trust me we DO have electricity here). We do have fast bank transfers ( within minutes now) pay by watch, smart banking. we learn a lot about world geography and history we speak several languges. Of course we have our own idiots here but we dont have flat earthers here and our morons are not that loud and secure about themselves as your morons I guess. and of course you have more morons statistically as you are a larger country. so they are all over internet "representing you". Also our morons often write in the local language so that may be the case why we do not see a selection of polish or serbian morons on BP.
Load More Replies...I'm American. I don't think our country is the best at almost anything. Reading these quotes is painfully embarrassing. I used to believe there are just a small percentage of people this ignorant and obnoxious. But now I'm just hoping 51% of us are normal, reasonable, and generally educated. I want to still believe the majority of us are good. But I don't know.
well we can kinda tell from the voting pattern, so we mostly work on the assumption as you say that about half are dumb and half are not, whcih correlates with the standard bell curve of IQ.
Load More Replies...That is what i am talking about. You are a site that cares about people, about their equality, about women and social issues. But at the same time you are the most xenophobic prick there is. Double standards in every 2nd article.
The constant "let's make fun of Americans" here is getting ridiculous. The majority of your examples of Americans being stupid is other Americans telling them they're stupid. I don't feel welcomed here anymore.
Be that "other American" that agrees this is stupid, and you are perfectly welcomed.
Load More Replies...I think Americans are super interested in ancestry because here we can only be Native Americans or non-native mutts. I'm a caucasian mutt. I wish I felt like part of a group. I think American is a culture like black is a color. The color black is the absence of light. American isn't a thing; we're just the absence of anything else. I'm glad my kids are Mexican American because they have a culture to embrace. Of course, these are only My feelings.
To be honest, a lot of us in Europe are mutts also. Britain has been invaded over and over and whatever makes us British today is a mix of a whole range of peoples. The US - just more recent that's all. Ancestry IS interesting and I don't think anyone minds someone saying their ancestry is Irish/French/Spanish or whatever. Just don't claim to BE Irish/French/Spanish etc. Why is American not a thing though? That I don't get. Culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society. Americans have that. Might be incredibly varied but that's a positive.
Load More Replies...Or better yet, stop disparaging and stereotyping any country. I can't imagine a worse time in modern history to be doing this.

Load More Replies...I hope that everyone remembers that not every american is an idiot like the above thread shows. Please try to be respectful, these images were cherry picked to be on this thread and although they do showcase the ignorance that some Americans have, they do not represent the entire country and should not be treated as such. I mean, how many of you non-american pandas can claim you have never met a stupid person in your own country.
The real idiots here are the ones who think that this handful of posts is representative of the US, a country of some 330 million people.
Plus, you could do this cherry-picking with literally any country. For instance, Andrew Wakefield, the corrupt doctor who falsified evidence to prove his theory that vaccines cause autism, is British.

As an American kid I was fortunate enough to have traveled and spend my summers in Egypt to visit relatives there. By doing this I was able to immerse myself in a different culture and would often have lengthy layovers in other countries as well (mainly in Europe.) I haven’t traveled that far in almost 20 years and this summer, I’m taking my 12 year old daughter there for the first time with a layover long enough to explore a little bit of Zürich. After having the impression that so much of the rest of the world may default to us being “dumb Americans” (this post is a prime example,) … I am a little nervous about this upcoming trip! On a different note, it’s sad that so many Americans don’t have the opportunity to travel outside of the country… so many parts of our system are built to keep us uneducated, poor (wages, healthcare costs), and with very little time off work for travel.
Generally speaking most people don't really have a low opinion of Americans. A low opinion of the ones that posted all the crap above? Absolutely. They are just representative of stupid people though, and they're all over the poor planet! I've met plenty of Americans - in the US, my own country and abroad and they were all lovely. I hope you and your daughter have a fabulous time in Zurich.
Load More Replies...Man, sometimes, reading these, I'm like: wow, america sounds awful! Then I remember I live there...
We can't be the only idiotic country out there, why are these always about the US?
Because other countries are not as loud about their stupidity
Load More Replies...I am boycotting BP until it gets over its anti-American bias and will encourage my friends to do the same. Let me know when you go off on a rage about how stupid Nigerians are, or fat people in Romania, or gun-toting Pakistanis.
Here's my question though, do you not have yokels in Europe? I mean, I know you do, but do you just keep them away from computers? I've met fascists and flat earth-ers on both sides of the Atlantic... I've met people in multiple Pacific countries that honestly believe that people from their country can't "breed" with white or black skinned people because of speciation, which is why their governments (China and Japan) make it so hard to become citizens. These things are obviously ridiculous, but I only hear these things when I'm actually in back woods places in these countries. Maybe I just don't spend enough time in German/French/Chinese/Japanese language forums. But if you have some kind of internet bear spray for people with crazy ideas, could you quit holding out on us?
I am utterly embarrassed to have to share a country with these morons. Thank goodness we aren't all this delusional.
I´m American and let me just say, I am so so sorry that these idiots exist. They´re just a small, very loud, percentage of us and I swear, not all of us are jerks.
As an American, let me apologize for my country's ignorance and delusional thinking. We aren't all like that.
Unless you’re one of the handful of people posted here, you have nothing to apologize for. You and I both know this isn’t America. It’s funny that the only xenophobia I’ve ever experienced in the US has all been from foreigners, especially Europeans (I worked for years at the largest Dutch electronics co where the majority of staff were expats from all over Europe). It’s like their pastime or something, which is sad, and, to be honest, makes me feel just a little bit better than them. I mean if someone wants to form an opinion of 330,000,000 people based on a handful of trash people, that’s their problem. But, it really just screams ignorance.
Load More Replies...Someone please tell me you have idiots like this other places too. Oh God please tell me we aren't the only ones
Of course there's stupidity all over the world! BP likes to trot out these US bashing posts to generate comments.
Load More Replies...The gift that never stop giving. Seriously though, I know lots of Americans are good people, so if you could all just move to one part, like Rhode Island, then we can set fire to the rest of the country. Thanks in advance. :P
Europeans aren't exactly too bright either. They keep claiming their healthcare is free, even though they pay for it with tax payer money! It's not free! It's better than what America has, but IT ISN'T FREE. Plus there's at least one European BP commenter who literally is claiming Europe doesn't have to deal with racism. Like, really dude? LOL
Nothing is "free" Tom. Nothing. If you want to get pedantic, everything that is called "free" has a hidden cost. Therefore the word technically shouldn't exist or ever be used. But it is used, because people KNOW that it is a relative term. They know that "free healthcare" MEANS "tax funded". They know that when a store offers "buy one get one free", it really means a 50% discount, and the store is just reducing their profit. You are still giving them money...

Around #31 I was starting to suspect a huge anti-American propaganda bot army is posting stuff like this all over the internet. There has to be, right? Please tell me I'm right. Love from the Netherlands (--> a country with running water, a health care system and bank passes we evidently have the Americans to thank for 🥴)
I feel like in history class, when our country did something bad we do learn about what we did. Not only the good stories about our country. Im in the Netherlands. Back when ships became a thing we did a lot good for our country but at cost of many many lives. I feel like America would focus on the first part and would leave out the last part.
Why do they think their “freedom” is so much better than universal healthcare and representative government?
ignorant people exist in every country, I guess the saddest part of this list is that many of these thoughts or beliefs are shared even by people who actually went to school or had some sort of education, so it's more like a cultural thing, but I want to believe most of these clowns are just a the loud minority, and there's actually smarter people than that in the US
I live in Wisconsin. It's embarrassing how many idiots there are in this state/country.
I don't think that American people are any more stupid than any other nationality. The problem is that they are victims of 2 centuries of indoctrination, propaganda, isolation and religious fundamentalism. They have been indoctrinated since childhood to believe that America is the world's greatest country and that as all other countries are inferior, there is no point in learning about them and that only American interests matter. It is true that in many parts of America things are improving, but in others they seem to be regressing.
Sad to say, I'm still learning history about what has happened here (American), even just from 50 years ago. Sometimes it feels as though there is a lock on information; if you don't know what you're looking for you won't find it. It's crazy and scary. Not to mention the huge push of propaganda for food, media, materialism, etc. that seriously ostracizes a person who doesn't 'buy' into it. Try telling people you don't want *name brand* because of slavery and you can be ostracized and bullied- as an adult. Look at the Natives here, they were forced into schools that demonized their natural culture and tried to "cleanse" them of barbarism. That isn't taught in school, it's not publicized. How do we know about something like that unless we dig? I found that by accident. I'm rambling, but suffice to say it's a lot more complicated than "stupid". There is deliberate misinformation and distraction going on, and it's not just here in America.
Load More Replies...I think this isn't a fair reflection of what the average American is like, nor did it pretend to. But these airheads are really loud and obnoxious people. They wear their ignorance like a badge of honour. And that contributes greatly to the bias.
Every country has numerous dumb and ignorant people, but unfortunately America seems to have a higher proportion of them online, making them look bad.
In europe people do think that americans are idiots, they ellected Trump, don't know world history,...but what do we know we don't have running water and still live on the dark ages🤣🤣not all americans are idiots and not all europeans are rude . This was an interesting piece
Leave it out Bored Panda. It's offensive and repetitive. There are plenty of idiots everywhere. The arrogant European smugness is one of the worst things around here, and you just keep encouraging it.
Yeah. All of these ppl make me feel so ashamed to be an American. But I do use "military" time, I have an electric kettle AND a kettle for my stove, I speak 3 languages, I understand that America is NOT the best country in the world... (one of the worst) and I know Europe has running fucken water and that France has freedom... lol. So please don't hate me. I'm one of the okay ones.
I'm in no way against 24 hrs instead of 12, just live in a place where 12 is used. Am curious how you answer the question "what time is it?" if it's 16:00. it feels silly and military to say "sixteen hundred hours" also feels somehow wrong to say "sixteen o'clock". Do you just say "sixteen"?
Yes, sometimes, we will officially say its “sixteen null null”. But mainly we just say its four 😁 But it is not about what you (we) use, is about that country which do not use 12 still know without any problem how 12 (AM-PM) works. The whole 12-24 thing is so simple. It is not rocket sience, its just a very, very simple couting, because day have 24 hours. Honestly i dont know how somebody can fail in such a simple thing ☺️

Load More Replies...went straight to the comments to watch the s**tshow....make popcorn, read these and laugh in agreement, knowing that the yanks I met abroad are none of these.
This Yank thanks you. It's like my UK in-laws still insisting that all Poles are really criminals. THey've never spoken to anyone from Poland! *facepalm* on their behalf
Load More Replies...You were doing so good BP!! Another article bashing American again… tsk tsk tsk
It's an absolute shame that what Americans have been doing for years on the Internet are now getting the same treatment. Call your manager
Load More Replies...I'm sorry but I couldn't read more than 10 posts. Some of the replies are so incredibly stupid or ignorant... They do say that ignorance is bliss and this thread just proved it.

My only problem with it is how often it crops up! Though that's the thing with these US bashing posts. I'm not a fan. Trouble is it's an easy one for Bored Panda - they know it will result in a lot of comments. Exactly what they want.
Load More Replies...Some of these . . . Are Americans ok? Is their educational system really that fùcked?
You could do this kind of cherry-picking with literally any country.

I get bored of the same types of articles being rehashed on here too, but if people get pissed off and feel they are American bashing, stop commenting to say that! Every time you comment saying BP should stop with these lists.or that they are offensive, you are ensuring more will get published. If you don't like them, don't click and don't comment. Any interaction, positive or negative, is a win for BP, and will ensure half a dozen similar pages appear

Og wow, the comments here are almost as fabulous as the article. 😂😂😂
I think I have damaged my brain reading these. Surely people aren't really this stupid, even in America?
Can we just unalive the stupid americans to raise the world IQ level by 50-100
Around #31 I was starting to suspect a huge anti-American propaganda bot army is posting stuff like this all over the internet.
