I Was Inspired By How Other Artists Reimagined Disney Princesses, So I Decided To Illustrate Soviet Princesses (8 Pics)
A few months ago, I got inspired by illustrations of Disney princesses made by several famous artists. I decided to start my own project about princesses from my native country. I think it is because I've been living abroad for so many years and I start to miss my own culture. All my illustrations depict princesses from famous Soviet animated films that are based on fairy tales, such as “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen or “The Bremen Town Musicians" by the Brothers Grimm.
The aim of this project is not to create a better version, but to show the beauty of Russian culture in my own vision and style. Every kid from my generation remembers these animations from childhood. I believe that all these beautiful and kind stories make us better!

Finally no more damn Disney "reimagining" drawings. These are original and super well done!

Load More Replies...Now this is something different than the norm. Thanks for sharing. We need more of these non/less mainstream content. And the art is good too, both originals and your versions.
Pretty ironic, seeing as the soviet's bayoneted their princess' to death in a cellar.
Yes! It is good to know that exist artists who can create their own version of known character instead to copy Disney, Pixar on Manggha style (which I can't stand it anymore). Well done!
i think it's sad that so little people do their own s**t and everyone just "redraws" other peoples ideas. where is the creativity in this world?
Load More Replies...Awful. Good Photoshop does not equal the talent. Behind each of the original pictures is the story, the character, the feels. All new ones look the same, lifeless and vapid.
As much as I despise Boredpanda for putting up Disney Princess (most of Bored Panda's readers are not 8 year old girls) I admit that these are well done. I wish the artist would do other subjects. Maybe have Comrade's Shaggy and Scooby being willing to go into the haunted house for a bowl of Borscht.
