Dutch traveler Eelco Roos quit his job as a specialist at computer company IBM after he decided to download Instagram on his phone and became Instafamous due to his stunning travel photography.
“Working in IT was never my dream job,” said Roos. “Photography has always been a big passion on mine, a creative outlet so to speak.” According to Business Insider, “he wanted to show others how great it was that you could take beautiful smartphone pictures with just some basic photography skills.”
When his following grew to 100,000, international brands including Samsung, KLM and Johnnie Walker approached for collaborations. As his popularity and followers increased, Roos decided to resign from IBM to become a full-time photographer – a decision he says he has yet to regret.
