I Went For Holidays To Indonesia, Never Left And Became An Underwater Photographer. My Black And White Uw Photos.

I left Poland to visit my divemaster cousin in Indonesia 3,5 years ago. Used to work in fashion industry, taking photos for magazines and on catwalk events. I never went back from my trip and now I call Indoensia my home.

When 3 years ago my cousin Patcy asked me if I want to try diving, I wasn’t sure my decision at first, but I did that! When we jumped into the ocean I immediately fell in love with the light under the water. From that first dive I knew I have to take photos under the water. And that’s what I do for living now. I am a head photographer in Trawangan Dive Center on small island called Gili Trawangan.

I am happy to have that possibility to dive everyday and take photographs of beautiful silent world. I have learned a lot and I still do, but I can tell you confidently that I love my job and I love to challenge myself everyday. (You can find more of my work on Instagram @karolatakesphotos)

I adore black and white photography, because monochromatic coloration builds character through various textures, emotions, actions and focuses on other aspects of the photo then color photography. These are one of my favourite black and white photos I took of my friends from Trawangan Dive Centre. Hope you will like them!

Vėjūnė is a community manager who helps artists all over the world introduce their artwork to Bored Panda readers and in that way, become more popular. Since she was always fascinated by the art world, she studied Culture Management and Cultural Policy at Vilnius Academy of Arts where she expanded her knowledge about it. Now she's using all this knowledge to showcase its beauty and help others dive into the fascinating world of art.
