I am Kunito Imai, a nature and flower photographer in Tokyo.

Every year in June and July, I photograph lotus flowers in Saitama, the suburbs of Tokyo. Lotus flowers begin to open at dawn and close around noon. So I get up at 3:50 when I go photographing these flowers.

In the morning, the light gets stronger every minute and the flowers open little by little. It’s so exciting to keep up with the moment.
