How many houseplants do you own? I’m a happy owner of more than a dozen plants – most of which are succulents, a result of ‘Survival of the Fittest’ or ‘Natural Selection’ of my room (or is it me?).

It all started when my best friend began her studies in biology specialising in the genetics of plants. Since then her apartment magically transformed into a greenhouse and after a while, it expanded to my lodgings. Nowadays we spend hours showing and discussing images of plants we’ve seen in shops, online or in someone’s garden. Hashtag UrbanJungle.

‘Plant Opulence’ is an ongoing series of illustrations dealing with my fascination with plants inside and outside my room.
