When many people look at the railroad spike they see nothing more than scrap metal, something that needs to be tossed in the bin and recycled into something else. In the eyes of a blacksmith or bladesmith it takes on a whole different persona, It may become a set of tongs, a plant hanging hook, a steak turner for the grill, even a knife, or in this case a dagger. I don't have the equipment to do this, but the process was fun to watch.
