I recently had the opportunity to spend a week riding a motorcycle through Colombia with a group of friends. Riding a motorcycle is the best way to experience a foreign country. A friend of mine once mentioned that once you cross the border and get into South America, your senses go on overload. From smelling the smoke while riding past burning sugar cane fields, to feeling the cool perfumed jungle air at night, not to mention taking in spectacular vistas around almost every turn, a trip through Colombia is an experience that’s impossible to forget. There is a saying that goes “If you want the best Caribbean beaches to go to the Bahamas, if you want the best Amazon go to Brazil, if you want the most amazing Andes go to Peru, but if you want them all in one place, go to Colombia.
