I Spend Most Of The Summers In Vama Veche And This Is All I Can Wish For.

This place called Vama Veche, at the shores of the Black Sea, close to the border between Romania and Bulgaria, is very popular, but also controversial: people who know the place since 20 years ago often say that Vama Veche has changed too much, turning from a raw and wild place into a bit fancy one.

I don’t totally agree with them. It’s true that I discovered this place only 4 years ago, but I admit that it is difficult to oppose development and modernization when there is potential.

What can many agree with is that people who can feel the real spirit of Vama Veche will always find authentic joy in simple things like catching sunrise on rhythms of the well known Bolero of Maurice Ravel, played at Stuf or enjoying a drink on the beach, not caring about others think. One doesn’t visit Vama Veche to show off or criticize others, but to spend quality time at the seaside and party at the beach bars. You can still choose from camping areas to fancy accommodations, according to each budget (you can camp in a tent or book a room in a 4* hotel, which can be pretty expensive).

In a few words, I would describe this place as lively, full of color and with personality.

I will always be excited about Vama Veche because it gives me a good vibe and I can easily find inspiration for my photography hobby. Let me introduce you in my Vama Veche (the name translated word for word means Old Border).
