I Find My Inner Peace In The Mountains And Photography So Here Is One Of The Latest Mountain Series I Have To Share
I believe the most important thing a person has to learn is how to find that inner peace. I found mine somewhere between my love for hiking, the mountains, the photography and my writings.
Mountains are like home and the feeling they give me keeps me coming back. Mountains also take care of my constant need for change and they do it with no effort what so ever. With each new season and each new sight. I can never get bored of them.
I’ve been carrying that camera of mine around for some time now and even though I found love in all sorts of photography, somehow mountains remain the dearest motive to me.
I am from Croatia which is a small country and each new mountain shelter is special and dear here so I try to capture them all.
Here’s the newest addition to that family. Meet Mountain shelter “Miroslav Hirtz”, located in Gorski kotar, Croatia, only half an hour from White Rocks (Bijele stijene) & Vihoraški Trail and some 3 hours from another dreamy shelter called Ratkovo shelter (Ratkovo sklonište) and Samarske Rocks (Samarske stijene), another great hiking opportunity and natural beauty to be seen.
Vihoraški trail is known as one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Croatia which I think everyone should experience, even if you don’t yet know what your love or inner peace is, I believe this trail will help you find it.
So, here’s to a new shelter I liked, visit it, love it, cherish it and let’s keep it clean and as sacred as it is today, handed to us. It is a rare thing and a privilege to have such places in the world, to visit, to use, to help us shelter from the rain or the cold, or just to go and find that inner peace.
I guess this will be the most crowded mountain shelter for some time now which doesn’t surprise me. It is one of the cutest Mr.Ivan Juretić has blessed us with. Just a quick mental note to all of us when visiting mountain shelters, no matter where you leave.
Already, even though it is open only for a month, you can find trash leftovers, muddy footsteps, used toilet paper behind the house and so on. Shelters are not hotels, you didn’t pay for someone to pick up your garbage after you leave, to clean the mess after you’re done with breakfast, no maid will come in and make the bed after you leave, no butler will close the door or shut the window after you’re gone. You are a visitor and are staying here for free, to enjoy, to experience and explore but also, to leave it in even better condition than you found it.
For some, shelters represent a warm place safe from rain, the wind and the cold. For some they are a symbol of free spirit, a more natural way of living and spending our days. Some come to take a selfie. Some are only passing by. All of the above are legit reasons and you have your right to them.
But shelters also represent us humans and by the state they are in you can tell the state we are in… And I sure hope we can do better than this. Take care of this beautiful wooden baby that’s been borrowed to us. It may be a home for you only for a night, but should remain a warm, safe and clean place for so many to come.
