I Paint Watercolor Blendscapes Turning Portraits Into Stories
10Kviews
Hello, I’m Larissa: a German/Dutch artist and glaciologist. In my work, I try to take portraits, whether of animals or humans, one step further. There are so many stories behind the subjects I paint, and I can show you part of them by blending faces and bodies with landscapes and objects.
My style conveys my love for ink and watercolor, wildlife and the human form. I hope the joy and sense of calm that my paintings give me during creation, can translate to you when seeing them.

Bright night visions
I took off the universe
Back to the flatlands
Dancing in the storm
Night wolf
I’m a force of nature
Daydreaming
Home is where the woods are
Spirit Animal
The colors of Iceland
Door
Together
Keep floatin’ sailor

Load More Replies...Man, I love these! Watercolour and ink (My favourite mediums) go so well together, I'd never thought of blending them. And the geometric designs add a mad twist to them. Your job must be bloody interesting, given your subjects- all seem to be from my favourite parts of the world! What is it you do, if you don't mind me asking? ( 'I'm a force of nature' reminds me of myself when I sing! But 'back to the flatlands is my favourite. They all deserve to be on the front page!) Peace and <3, Linden
Thank you so much! Oh yes, I am certainly inspired by what I do, and the inspiration originates from my favourite parts of the world too: usually mountainous/ glaciated areas. I started in glacier and avalanche modelling during my studies, and now doing numerical modelling of the Greenland Ice Sheet. 'I'm a force of nature' is actually my personal favourite, based on an amazing Icelandic female rap group: Reykjavíkurdætur.
Load More Replies...Your arr is incredible and I absolutely love it. I love how you've mixed them with ink, amazing!! Do you sell your art works?
Oh thank you so much. It's still so strange and incredible to hear that other people enjoy seeing what I do. Yes, I sell my work in my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ANDAdesignstore?ref=hdr_shop_menu
