“Here I’m Watercoloring these cute King Charles Cavaliers Gigi and Rosie, who live in New York City, rowing a boat in Central Park. Black is always a tricky color in watercolor to get right, I always start with a lighter layer and build up using dark blues to bring out the shine in the fur. In dogs with brown patches on their face, I paint the tan first and let them dry before starting on the black areas.”
