In this video tutorial I show you how I made a frozen castle lamp using seven 0,5 plastic bottles, hot glue and glitter. I used dark blue glitter for the door, windows and roofs and light blue, turquoise and translucent glitter for the ice on the castle. Although it seems like a tone of glue it really isn’t (approx 700 grams). I made a thin coat and went in vertical lines so it looks natural. After I had the whole surface covered in hot glue I started adding icicles here and there, under the windows, under the towers and on the entrance. And that’s it! No painting needed for this project. Of course I placed some battery LED lights under the frozen castle and it looks amazing in the dark!!!
Tips:
1. Be careful when working with the hot glue!
2. Have a sheet of paper under the project so you can save the unused glitter
3. When using hot glue on the plastic bottles you want to have a test bottle near by to make sure your glue is not too hot and won’t melt the bottles. Switch it on and off to adjust the heat, or, if you don’t have a switch simply unplug it.
