Greetings from the stunning beaches of Ankaran, Slovenia! I'm Marina, a dedicated student with a deep passion for uncovering nature's treasures along the coast. Nestled next to the enchanting Italian border, my seaside home is a haven for exploration and creativity.
Let me introduce you to a hidden gem unlike any other – the extraordinary "seashell" beach of Ankaran. Picture this: a vast expanse adorned with millions of empty seashells, forming a magnificent shell dune that stretches as far as the eye can see.
The story behind this wonder is just as fascinating. In 1990, the Port of Koper undertook a project, pumping sludge from the seabed near the second port pier to a nearby location. Over time, rain washed away the mud, revealing a treasure trove of seashells. And thus, the shell dune was born.
Navigating this mesmerizing landscape is no easy feat – with no defined path, one must tread carefully upon the crunchy carpet of seashells. Yet amidst the broken shells, I discovered a world of possibilities.
It was among these fragments that I found the tiniest seashells imaginable, each one a miniature marvel waiting to be transformed. With patience, skill, and a steady hand wielding tweezers, I began crafting these tiny treasures into unique jewelry designs that captured the essence of the sea.
The process is as meticulous as it is rewarding. Each piece tells a story of resilience and beauty, born from the depths of the ocean and shaped by the hands of an artist. From delicate earrings to intricate pendants, my creations breathe new life into nature's bounty, allowing others to carry a piece of the sea wherever they go.
But don't just take my word for it – come, journey with me through the snapshots of this breathtaking beach, the shimmering shells, and the creations they inspire.

It also leaves me *beachless*. Because I'm not there. And that's sad.
Beautiful, especially the miniscule ones! If I saw them on sale I'd have thought they must be fake shells they are so tiny!!!
